Spacious room with air con. Nice bathroom with great shower and cleaned daily, fresh towels and toiletries and beds made. Had breakfast included whuch was buffet and plentiful selection, breads to toast, pastries, cold meats and cheese, yoghurts, freshfruit, coffee and juice machine, cereal. Also cafe inside if u want lunch and/or dinner but hotel is also so close to avenues of bars and restaurants
,yet still quiet so no rowdy evening noise. Swimming pool isnt huge but certainly sufficient to swim and cool off and cleaned daily. 2 min walk to beach with more restaurants, bars even Burger King & McD's!! To rent 2 sun beds & umbrella at beach 18€. Water and ice coffee can be bought at local supermarket for room and slight shame no kettle in room but just have water and breakfast is 8-10am. Relaxing, sunny and not too expensive so a great break!

A basic but beautiful hotel. Very clean with very attentive staff. Antonio and Celia very welcoming and so helpful.

The rooms were cleaned daily with a change of towels every day which is the norm.

I have been there many a time and always finding myself booking to go back.
Beautiful safe beach 100 metres from the hotel. The public transport system second to none and so inexpensive. A 25 min journey on the the tram is 1.45 euro. So easy to get around to see all the beautiful sites Alicante have to offer.
Restaurants and bar within a short walking distance and everything you need at your doorstep.

Just got home after a week in San Juan at the Hotel Castilla Alicante.

First of all the weather was amazing! 20+ all week - it amused me that the locals are all walking around in huge winter coats, hats and boots and there’s me in summer gear. You can definitely spot the tourists! 🤣🤣

On to the hotel. It was very clean and tidy and the staff were all accommodating and friendly. The only down sides for me were the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room and also the buffet breakfast left a lot to be desired. It was a continental choice but not really up to much. This could be down to the fact that it’s out of season for them and the hotel didn’t appear to be that busy. The cafe in the hotel in the evenings was adequate. The pizzas were delicious and the ham and cheese baguettes were nice too.

Be aware that if you go in January there aren’t many options to eat out at night close to the hotel as all the eateries tend to close at 5pm. We did find a gem of a Thai restaurant just down the road.

A great plus is that the hotel is located very close to 4 tram lines from where you can explore the area very cheaply. We used the trams every day.

Would I go again - most definitely! Winter sun just 2.5 hours from Newquay airport! Absolutely gorgeous!

Really lovely clean hotel. The location is great for the beach and to catch the tram. disappointed however by a few things. There are no tea & coffee making facilities in the room. There is no iron and they don’t have one you can borrow from reception either. Not ideal when you have a suit case packed full of wrinkly clothes. The room was so warm at night and the air con only blew out warm air so we had to sleep with the patio door open all night. Thankfully being on the 8th floor it meant no body was likely to sneak in!
The hotel itself it so clean but the cleaners are very noisy so not much chance of getting a lie on!! The tram is close so it’s handy for going to see other towns. It’s a very cheap way of getting about. A lot of places are still closed due to the season but we did manage to find a few nice restaurants nearby. It’s got a nice pool although due to the weather only being 16 to 19 nobody used it and so it looked a bit in need of some TLC. Leaves etc. we enjoyed our stay here but these things would put us off going back.

Amazing start to our holiday , we got to go to our room the moment we arrived. The cleanliness of this hotel is amazing, the house keeping team here keep the whole place immaculately clean. The pool area is really well looked after and music Is piped all day . There is a bar where you can get drinks/snacks to eat and drink around the pool. The hotel is in easy walking distance to the strip and also only about a 20 min walk to the old town. The team in the restaurant are AMAZING, Juan , Amanda and the team really look after you and food is good . My only complaint is the evening entertainment, it's not really geared for any but Spanish visitors ( sorry) hence we had to go out each night . On the morning we left which was early the night receptionist stayed outside with us until our transfer coach arrived and I think this was amazing and just shows how caring the staff are . Thank you all staff .

What a lovely hotel. Staff were all so friendly, the room was immaculate, the pool area was great. My 2 children loved the pool. No problem getting sun loungers. We had a superior room on the 6th floor and had a good view all around. The hotel is a short walk from the beach (which is lovely) and near to shops and restaurants. We were only here for 3 nights but would definitely return. We got the bus from the airport to ALC then the no22 bus which stops very near to the hotel.

This is an excellent hotel choice. It is modern, spacious, and comfortable hotel. The rooms are very nice, with well sized balcony, the beds are comfortable, and the modern bathroom is functional, bright, with plenty of towels and nice hot water. The staff are efficient, approachable and helpful. The cafe seating area is outside road side, which is very great for to relax and just let the world pass by. The pool is excellent, with lovely decking. There's lots of eateries nearby, and the beautiful beach is just a short walk. The tram line is right outside. For the price you pay I doubt you can do better.

Great hotel and staff. Very easy check in, they let us leave our bags in their secure room as well. We had a very early flight and they were more than accommodating to us coming early to check in. The room was not ready but we knew this would be the case as we were 4 hours early! But they were more than happy to help.

Very clean and modern. Very close to the beach and easy to find your way around. Very close to tram stops, food outlets and supermarkets. We travelled in February and not much was open, so make sure you plan your food stops!
Some restaurants were closed by 8pm.

We got a taxi to and from the airport, ordered by reception for us on the way back. This cost 40€. You are able to get public transport back, however it didn’t match up with our early flight time.

A little bit noisy Saturday night but nothing horrific. We just noticed it was noisier. I didn’t keep us up.

Beds comfy. Yes there are only small basic toiletries and not much in the room but it was excellent value for money.

Breakfast was ok, no hot food. Probably wouldn’t have it again but it was good, just not what we expected.

A few improvement points needed, our bathroom door didn’t shut well. And our shower made the bathroom more like a wet room!

It was perfect for our 3 night stay.

Very good hotel. Lovely staff, especially the bar staff.
We had a deluxe room so we had a front room with large balcony and a sea view. A bit noisy on Saturday night but otherwise nice and quiet
3 mins walk to tram stop lines 4 and 5. 10 mins walk to tram stop line 3 which takes you towards Benidorm.
3 mins walk to the beach
We spent an afternoon walking round the coast line from San Juan into the outskirts of Alicante. Really lovely walk and lots of secluded coves to sit in.

What a great find. Clean, efficient and friendly hotel. Excellent communication via email in advance. Room safe was 2 euro per day. You can pay for breakfast each morning allowing last minute change of plan. Excellent access to bus and tram stations nearby. Hotel cafe reliable and good. 24hr reception makes late arrival trouble free. Would recommend.

Hi, I think you should check this with the hotel as I wouldn’t want to offer you incorrect info. It may well be that there are local restaurants open during the festive but my thoughts would be probably not. The area surrounding the hotel is largely residential and there are beach front restaurants open during the summer season. But the old town will be open just like any other big city so you could eat there, just one bus ride away. The bus stop is conveniently outside the hotel which makes the town very easy to reach, though it’s much too far to walk. Hope this helps!

About €36/38 from airport taxi. Hotel can order one for you back to airport for about €32. Could try Cabify ap but unsure if it’s cheaper. Just checked there and it would be €35.50
