We had an amazing time on our 10th visit to the level , Melia Alicante , we got a room leading on to the affinity pool and it made the holiday for us . The staff are wonderful especially the receptionist staff , so friendly and helpful , breakfast amazing as always and we couldn’t help notice that the same staff are there year after year which is a real credit to the management of the hotel , the rooms are spotless , location amazing as you look to the right you see the Sea and to the left you see the city … only 20 minutes from the airport … thank you Melia , we will be back again and again

We stayed at the Level to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, we've stayed here before and so we were looking forward to a repeat of the last excellent experience we received. However, this was not the case, we received an email to say certain things had to be removed from the rooms due to COVID. We totally accept things have to change, but we were shocked to see the room that we'd upgraded to a suite was completely stripped bare of everything you expect to find in
a luxury hotel, even down to a glass in the bathroom. Our upgraded suite was nothing more than very poor basic hotel room with a beautiful large comfortable bed and an outstanding view!!! However, the service from the actual Level itself was outstanding sun loungers cleaned after every client left them. The waiter/ress bringing drinks on request, breakfasts were very good. Although with only one person cooking and plating up it was a little slow and queues were beginning to form at busy times. We accept that in difficult times we will have live with the changes, and we have bought our issues to management. We would recommend the Level, but not until the old normal times return!

Huge hotel dominating the beach in Alicante, with a tiny corner reserved for The Level. Plus that it was Adults Only. The Level area had a lovely lounge which served as a private breakfast room and had good variety for breakfast, and afterwards there were snacks and cakes as well as wine, beer and soft drinks available during most of the day and it provided great views. My review score is on the low side despite of these great features, because it was such a small space and the pool was tiny. Pool area was very packed and only had sunshine for a couple of hours in the morning. Because of COVID sun chairs had been reduced and there was a jungle law behavior in who gets to have one and especially in the sun, making safety distance impossible despite the hotel’s efforts to keep them.

Rooms were nice and lounge staff was very friendly and efficient. If you do not need a lot of personal space it is okay and good value. We ordered room service twice; the first time the food was delicious. Ordered again the same dish the next day and it was cold and actually quite bad even. So cannot safely recommend.

The location by the marina and beach is great but as Alicante is a busy city with a lot of tourists who are out there to party, this is not a spot for anyone who wants peace and quiet from their vacation.

Hotel has no parking and parking in a close by parking garage was quite pricey, 19€ a day. It was also quite cramped and a bit difficult to get in and out as cars were double parked for the night due to lack of space.

We've just come back from a week in a marina view room at The Level.

The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are all friendly and helpful.

The room was well appointed and spacious, we requested an accessible room and were given a room on 1st floor by the lift with a spacious shower.

The food and drink provided all day at The Level is excellent. We really enjoyed sampling some of the snacks and we loved cocktail hour! We paid for breakfast which again was excellent with a wide choice of food, really worth doing. We ate at the Tresuz restaurant one night, that was disappointing and costly. Didn't enjoy that. Also our room was over one of the public spaces and a wedding party had a loud disco until 2.30am which was a nuisance, although the hotel did apologise to us about this.

We loved the infinity pool area, but in the afternoon it shades over.

Room Tip: It's worth paying for a sea view room. Also worth paying for breakfast.

The Level is an amazing hotel. Firstly, its location is second to none; situated right next to the beach and the port and only a 10 minute walk to the old town. The breakfast in the level lounge is so delicious and there's a wide range of foods from pastries, continental, hot food and even a small gluten free section. The best part about the level lounge however is the fact that they have free snacks and drinks (including beer, wine and prosecco) all day with tapas and spirits coming out for an hour at six.

We stayed in a sea view room which had stunning views. It was incredibly clean and had everything you could want in a hotel room, even a Bluetooth speaker which was a nice touch.

The one issue with the hotel (which is not necessarily their fault but has to be mentioned) is the shade. In the morning the sun shines on the side of the beach however in the afternoon it passes over the hotel to the port side. This means that the Level pool only has sunlight between the hours of about 8-11am which is slightly disappointing. The main pool loses the sun at around 2pm and even then only has sun in one corner fit for about 5-8 sunbeds, the hotel have placed sunbeds across the other side of the hotel facing the port to rectify this it just means that throughout the day there can be quite a lot of relocating if you are wanting to sunbathe all day.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the level and despite the shade situation I will definitely be returning.

t was our wedding anniversary and we paid for a room on ‘The Level’. Such poor customer service, and generally they are putting “style”over substance.
We were told our room would be ready at 3pm when we dropped our bags off at 1pm.But in fact you cannot check in until 4pm! Never had such a late check in especially when check out is still 12. Perhaps if they employed a few more staff you could get into your room at a decent time.

No one at the ground floor concierge on our return so a sign directs you to 1st floor reception. We took the first lifts available and ended up in a lift lobby with absolutely no indication of where the reception was, just rooms as far as we could see. I returned to ground, left my husband with the luggage, and a young man took me to another set of lifts, another corridor of rooms and eventually the reception. Receptionist wasn’t helpful but her English was very poor and my Spanish is basic. She wanted to keep my passport while I rescued my husband, I refused.
Had a free drink, crisps and nuts, and watched staff take alcohol into the office, drop glasses several times and generally behave unprofessionally.
At 4.05pm I asked for our room keys and we found the room ourselves. Again, no signs.
Room was large and ok. Badly designed luggage rack as you cannot actually open your case once positioned, so we had to use the sofa. A View of the swimming pool so not great. Balcony small and enclosed by 1970s brown bricks.
The bathroom arrangement is just odd. Loads of space, nowhere to hang your towel and a shower inside the bath with a immovable screen 3/4 of the length of the bath - getting out of there was a challenge I don’t want to repeat.
The bedroom floor was filthy, any bedding falling on it came back with black dirt.

The WiFi in our room was so bad I couldn’t even load a web page. This really irritates me.

They provide a nespresso style machine but 10cm tall mugs? So to use the machine you have to remove the drip tray. Why not provide some coffee cups? The coffee pods, unlabelled, were awful.

Breakfast was average, nothing special and very slow to clear tables. Real Nespresso coffee was only bonus.

Again, no wall signs to direct you to the lifts, just an endless corridor.

If you like a few ‘free’ drinks, nuts/crisps then you may find it worthwhile. Overall just a really disappointing experience. Trying to be something it is not.We would not stay again, and I am put off the Melia brand.

Stayed here during the last week of Sept. First time in the Level though the In-laws had been before.
The hotel is impeccably clean with hand gels everywhere and reminders to wear masks when walking around indoors.
The Level was busy but not congested. Sensible behaviour on the part of most guests made the self-service drinks and snacks a nice experience. The pool at the level is a bit small and loses the sun after lunch but it does provide for an enjoyable relaxing morning.
Breakfast was managed with time slots that meant there were never large crowds in the restaurant. The food, tea and coffee were faultless and the staff worked continuously to tidy up and restock.
The gym was also on a prior booking basis so having the gym to myself at 7:00a.m was a joy.
The rooms were spacious, clean and well maintained. The cleaners did a great job keeping the rooms in good shape.
Used the bar at the entrance on a number of occasions and the staff were excellent. The price of drinks was also pretty average.
Look forward to returning to the Level next year hopefully

I really can't fault this hotel. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left, the staff could not have been more attentive and helpful.
Our room was large and comfortable and kept clean (two visits per day by the housekeepers). Great views over the beach - just be aware that beach view rooms have the sun in the morning and harbour view rooms get it in the afternoon.
The Level is an adult only section of a large family friendly hotel. As such, you have access to an adult only lounge, where you have complimentary drinks and snacks, and outdoor pool. The only downside was that the pool area was overlooked by rooms (with balconies), some of which were occupied by families with nosey and noisy kids.
We booked half board, which was perfect for a short stay (4 days in our case). Breakfast was served in The Level's own lounge, consisting of a variety of options from cereals, pastries, breads, cakes, doughnuts, etc. and hot breakfast choices, including freshly cooked to order fried eggs and omelettes. There was even a fresh honeycomb frame set up to serve yourself fresh from the hive honey. Too much to list but all so tasty!
For our evening meals, we used the a la carte restaurant (Trasluz Restaurant), rather than the buffet that was also available. We had a three course meal from a fairly comprehensive menu and every dish was delicious. The maitre d' and waiters were excellent - friendly, informative and helpful.
Overall, we had a wonderful short break and I would happily recommend The Level at Meliá Alicante!

What a fantastic hotel. There is a Level welcome desk just inside the front door. They take your luggage (which they later deliver to your room) and then escort you to the Level Lounge on the first floor for check in. Our room was very modern, with a large tv, safe, fridge and balcony. A large king size bed and marble bathroom with a rain shower. All spotlessly clean and serviced daily. All the staff we encountered were friendly, professional and eager to help.

The Level Lounge was quite a big space and was really fantastic. A very comprehensive breakfast buffet with a chef cooking fresh eggs. Beer, wine, cava, soft drinks, tea and coffee were available from breakfast till closing at 2230 hrs. Food from 1200 to 1300hrs, cake and sweet treats at 1600hrs, and tapas and spirits from 1800 to 1900hrs.

Off the lounge there is a terrace with a small seating area and sun beds. Never an issue getting a bed. There is an infinity plunge pool and the whole lounge and terrace overlooks Alicante beach. The terrace is mostly in shade from about 1100hrs onwards.

The hotel is a leisurely 10 minute walk to the Old Town which is bustling with shops, cafes and restaurants. A taxi from the airport took about 25 minutes and was 25 Euro with a tip.

All in all a memorable stay in a top class hotel. Sure to return in the future.

This used to be one of my favourite hotels to stay in in Alicante, over the years we have stayed here at the level more than 15 times. However, this stay didn't meet previous stays' standards there have been lots of cutbacks, and no welcome drinks on arrival, breakfast now not included,no water in the room, many of the nice extras no longer offered.
However my biggest complaint is we had the worst nights sleep ever our room had a problem with the air conditioning making it so noisy, no one came to fix it we where then next to a disco which went on till 5am we gave up and just left at 5.30 am.
I thought I would contact the hotel and complain it took more than 8 hours to get a response which for a hotel of this standard you would expect much quicker.
I was offer the best price guaranteed and a upgrade room on my next stay as a way of an apology however when I checked the website I was being charged over €300 more than this break is advertised on there website.
What an insult if I have booked accommodation on a platform like air b and b I would automatically get a % back for a dissatisfied night's sleep.
Please the level improves your standards to what they once were.

Hi. The breakfast in the Level is absolutely perfect. A good range of food. You will get everything you need there. No need to book additional breakfast. I think you can actually use the other restaurant for breakfast at no extra cost if you prefer - ask the staff at the Level. Enjoy your stay.
