Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I, plus our dog, stayed in the Hermitage Garden Suite which is similar to the cottage and is a self contained unit attached to the owner's house. The suite has a beautiful comfortable bedroom with settee and TV plus wifi and a conservatory where breakfast is taken. Vicky gave us a wonderful welcome and nothing was too much trouble for her. She even booked a table for dinner for us at the village pub, The Royal Oak, a mere stroll away. Breakfast was to die for, a huge full English and beautifully cooked. The bonus for us was being able to take our rescue dog with us who was also made to feel special. This B & B is highly recommended and is well situated for visiting the Kent and East Sussex Coast with attractions such as Dungeness closeby.

Stayed at this lovely bed and breakfast whilst walking the Royal Military Canal with a friend, the owners Vicky and Martin were so very helpful and friendly. The accommodation is completely separate to the rest of the house and includes a small lounge/dining area with TV, shower room with Triton shower and double bedroom. The bed gave us a fantastic sleep, aided by a feather mattress topper. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, nothing seemed too much trouble. Local pub in Brookland was recommended and we had the most delicious meal there in the evening, though wish we had taken a torch to walk back with as we had trouble finding the gate on the way home! Be warned, there appear to be limited bus and taxi services in this area if you are on foot.

Had a brilliant couple of days here. There is plenty to see nearby - Rye is stunning and we enjoyed the Romney, Hythe And Dymchurch Railway - and it was great to come back to sit in our own private space and relax. Breakfast is huge and the bed is very comfortable. Vicky is a lovely host and it was like leaving a friend when we came home. Highly recommended.

Stayed just one night while visiting lydd speedway veterans championship. Very comfortable bed. Lots of tv channels and good reception which was good for us as we were too tired to stay out late. Tasty breakfast served in the cottage at ten which was nice and late. Charming hosts.

Stayed for 'just' two nights but worgh much more. Service at its best with very tasty breakfast!
Comfertable patio to sit and linger after a day at the beach. In the morning sun to read with a fresh coffee.
The bed is good and comfy. HD tv-set is good with more channels than good for us during the holidays...

We stayed here for one night and were thrilled with the service and the accommodation. Vicky made us feel really at home as though we had know her for years. She took care of our every need and even brought us a cooked breakfast to our accommodation.

The accommodation is great, is detached from the main house, and has a small living room area with sky tv, table and chairs, kettle and tea, a very comfy bed and nice shower too.

It's only a short drive to Rye and surrounding attractions. We'd stay here again in a flash.

A great little find in the heart of the kent countryside. The owner Vicky is lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The cottage is small and quirky and had everything we needed for a short stay.Breakfast was good quality. Extras that are often charged for in bigger b and b's like Sky Tv and parking were free.
