My wife and I stayed here for a few weeks inbetween moving house. The accomodation is superb and we found everything we needed was on hand. John and Bridget are the owners and provide an exemplary service. The farm is well placed for exploring the New Forest and we were able to enjoy long walks with our dog. There is also an excellent Indian restaurant at the end of the drive which is well worth a visit. Would recommend the accomodation to couples and families with children of all ages.
Stayed here last w/e. Lovely cottage. Very cosy. Christine (the owner) couldn’t do enough to make sure we had everything that we needed for our stay. The cottage is well equipped with everything you would need. Will definitely be booking again. In fact my daughter booked another break there before we left.
This site has a number of cottages, mainly in converted farm buildings. We had Swan Cottage, sold as sleeping 4-6, and we certainly found it to be a good home for the three of us. We were worried that, looking at the map, Fordingbridge might not be near enough to the New Forest. We wuz wrong! There are footpaths leading directly to riverside walks, with plenty of bats, swans and even kingfishers to watch. Less than a mile's walk brings you in to the woodlands of the New Forest, with plenty of opportunity to become 'temporarily uncertain of your position'. A little further afield is the open, high heathland of Ashley Walk, where we took several good, long walks in some amazing countryside. The farm is a working farm, and we noticed how the children of other families on site really appreciated both the animals and the freedom to run around in the fields. Fordingbridge turned out to be a good base for a holiday - within easy reach of the coast as well as all the main attractions of the area. Finally, a word of thanks to our hosts, who take the trouble to prepare everything you might want for a self-catering holiday, then leave you to enjoy it. This is a great place to stay.…
Honestly, would recommend this place to anyone, especially people that have children, the farmer and his wife was lovely and included us when moving animals so that my nephew could see. Such a beautiful place. Didn't even need to go out for dinner, as there is a bbq and lovely seating area. Highly recommended and would definitely go back!
Family break for 3 nights at Kingfisher. Accommodates up to six in three separate spaces. Cottage is comfortable and very well equipped, location is great, Bridget and John could not have been more helpful. What is there not to like? The weather perhaps but we did manage some lovely walks and bike rides in between the showers. I was rather taken by the New Forest and will definitely be back.
