Christine very kindly allowed us to stay in her lovely COVID secure Thatched property whilst we were between house moves.

Burgate Farmhouse is in a brilliant location to explore the local area whether the New Forest, the South Coast Beaches or Southampton, Bournemouth, Poole and Salisbury all within easy reach.

Immediately on arrival we felt fully COVID secure which was important to us, and felt totally at home with all you would need for a comfortable stay.

The private secure rear courtyard was brilliant for us as we had our Dog with us, and additionally there was ample parking available.

The separate Laundry room was a real bonus for us during our extended stay

The Farmhouse is handy for some lovely rural walks, yet also walking into Fordingbridge is easy.

The Detached Play Barn will be a delight to younger and older families alike to while away some fun family hours, all with Pragmatic and easy to understand COVID security in place.

Many thanks

Thankyou Christine for letting us have the pleasure of staying in the Wishing Well.
It is a beautiful thatched cottage in an ideal location for taking long walks or a trip into the forest.
The cottage is set in gorgeous well kept grounds and has everything that you could need during your stay and is really well equipped for children aswell
We would most definitely recommend a stay here, you would not be disappointed, and the price is amazing as well

We stayed over bank holiday weekend. The accommodation is beautiful and we found it to be cosy and comfortable inside. Plenty of necessities in the kitchen too. The games well is well equipped with lots of toys for children and adults! The gardens are lovely and well maintained. We had lovely weather so sitting out in the garden was very enjoyable. The slight downside is the A338 road is right next to the property and is the main route to Bournemouth so it was quite noisy at times but it wouldn’t be put us off staying again. The bedrooms have additional windows to deaden the road noise too so it didn’t prevent us from getting a good nights sleep.

The owner allows the use of a free parking pass that she has for all over the new forest which was a nice surprise as we were expecting to have to pay hefty parking charges around the area, but we were surprised at how many of the car parks in the Beaty spots are free!

We sampled the local Indian takeaway too which is a stones throw from the farmhouse and would recommend.

There is a beautiful wisteria too on the property that must be hundreds of years old! Very pretty.

It was our second holiday at Little Thatch and have to say all the facilities were top class
The kitchen was fully equipped and the beds are very comfortable. The laundry room provisions are amazing and even a sink to hand wash clothes and a good washing line to hang out washing to dry . Everything you could wish for is there and is spotlessly clean.
The grandchildren loved the games room and my husband loved the parking ticket which was also provided for use around the town . Christine was there on site to welcome us and parking right out the cottage made it so easy to unpack . Cannot recommend it enough
Thank you

We really wish that we could have stayed longer at this beautiful old, beamed thatched cottage. Our every need had already been thoughtfully anticipated and catered for and the property was spotlessly clean, warm and inviting.
The accommodation was really flexible and enabled us to select our own 'space'.
Our son enjoyed the darts and pool in the Sports Barn which is an amazing resource for young people and families (and not just on wet days) and there are wonderful gardens.
The property is ideally placed for the coast, New Forest countryside and city (Salisbury).
Thank you Christine.

I'm so pleased that you enjoyed your stay in Wishing Well. It probably didn't match up to your intended holiday in Portugal but I'm glad that you still managed a holiday in these difficult times. I'm glad that I've been able to keep the Games Barn open. Everyone has been extremely helpful in following the Covid guidelines & keeping everything clean. I hope you can come again another time.

Perfect, just simply perfect, what a stunning property in a beautiful location, it has everything you need and Christine is so welcoming. If you have dogs this beautiful property is ideal as the garden is completely secure (which can be hard to come across) and having 3 dogs myself this is extremely handy. Sitting outside on the garden swing drinking your tea/coffee watching the dogs play in beautiful surroundings I’m not sure I could have asked for more. This was the first time visiting and it will definitely not be the last, we have found ‘our place for a great get away’ the games room is a great idea if you just want a relaxing evening after all the walking and sight seeing so if you have little ones this is a great find also. The main garden is so well kept and when you are in your own little courtyard you have all the privacy you need. Can’t wait to come back and visit again

Again another fab holiday at Wishing Well Cottage. Christine made us feel very safe and the cottage on arrival was extremely clean and tidy , We used the Games barn every day ensuring we wiped everything down after each use , we had great fun. We were lucky enough to have the hottest week and used the BBQ everyday again ensuring we cleaned it when finished. A fantastic time was had by us all and we have booked again for next year. Christine is a fantastic host and always ensures you have a great stay.

Although we have enjoyed many lovely holidays in the New Forest over the years, this is the first time we have taken our dogs with us. The accommodation is very well equipped, immaculately clean, with parking adjacent to the cottage - very helpful with loading the dogs, and a fully-enclosed garden to keep them safe. Christine was there to welcome us and to offer advice as required. The cottages also have a lovely garden to enjoy at the front of the cottages, a play barn facility, fully equipped laundry all kept spotlessly clean, well maintained and nothing too much trouble. The location is very well situated for access both to the coastal areas and the forest. We definitely will look to book again for next year and hope to enjoy many more stays at Little Thatch in the future. Highly recommended facility for both families and couples - with or without dogs.... Excellent!

We arrived at little thatch and immediately felt relaxed! The house is absolutely beautiful and inside didn’t disappoint! This was our first break away with our 2 year old, everything is on the ground floor so felt super safe to let him wonder round. The lounge is spacious and the kitchen is modern and well equipped. The whole property felt so family friendly with the fantastic games barn, huge list of baby/toddler items to borrow and the property itself just felt so homely! We also took our border collie, with a large rear fenced off garden it felt so safe to let him in the garden.

The property is in such a central location, easy to travel to places like Burley, Lyndhurst, peppa pig world (an amazing day out) and the little town of Fordingbridge is lovely too. Christine has put together so much helpful information including a free parking pass in all the new forest council car parks, and is more than happy to advise on good places to visit and eat!
Thank you for such a lovely holiday!

You can unwind immediately you step through the door at Little Thatch, as everything has been thought of for you. The accommodation is so comfortable and welcoming, with a tray laid out for afternoon tea/coffee, complete with chocolate chip cookies! Everything is clean and tidy with plenty of room for all your belongings. The enclosed back garden now has the addition of a lovely swing seat to sit and relax, whilst anyone wanting to test their skittle, pool or table tennis ability can enjoy the all weather games barn. All this even before you think about venturing down the road and into the New Forest!
