We really enjoyed our stay in this peaceful hotel in beautiful surroundings. Interconnecting rooms are perfect for families and there’s little play park and sandpit for the kids too. The staff were really accommodating, serving meals outside the normal restaurant hours to allow for the kids’ sleep schedules. The food itself was relatively basic but tasty. The only negative (and it’s hardly within the hotel’s control) was the prevalence of insects. Make sure you take very strong bug spray as they are very aggressive and bite a lot.

We went to Los Palomos with three other families, because it had been recommended. We found it's more pricey than others in the vicinity, without offering more facilities (relatively small pool, access to river but no clear path to bathe there, no ping pong, table soccer, volleyball, etc., that you can find in other hotels). The worst was service. The receptionist at the hotel was not agreeable or open to suggestions. There's no WiFi in the rooms (only in reception!). Lastly, food took a long time to be served and waitresses had unfriendly faces! I don't think we'll show up again there!

Thank you for your comments. We try to be more orientated to ecology and nature, a peaceful place for guests to relax in a quiet ambiance. Wifi, being in the country side, is very difficult, but we do have access in most parts of the hotel for our guests needs. But, thank you for your comments, Marion

I had the chance to visit this hotel and my expectations were exceeded by both the beauty of its location and by the quality of service provided by Jose Luis. Looking forward to recommending this hotel to my friends and family back home.

Imagine yourself in a place where there is no city noise but the sound of the refreshing river, Imagine yourself relaxing in a pool with real sun a few hours of the stressful city, Imagine comfy beds, pillows, warm water and beautiful service, Imagine yourself at night with a bonfire with a freezing night but with your couple hugging each other, Imagine a splendid breakfast with many treats that you can't count, Imagine yourself ...let it go ....

As an expat who lives in Lima, I'm always looking for places to get out for the weekend. My husband and I came to this hotel last weekend with a group of friends. We had an AMAZING time -- great food (gourmet taquenos), very friendly and accommodating staff (speaks a little English if you have no Spanish), and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and tranquil -- make sure to bring bug spray though, there are quite a few biting bugs (not mosquitos), however you'll find that at every hotel in Lunahuana. We even brought our own wine and snacks and were able to lay out by the pool and read and chat, and have a great time. But the best part is the honesty of the people who work here. I stupidly left my wedding ring on the dresser in the room and didn't even realize it until the next day when I was getting dressed for work. Total nightmare. Obviously, I freaked out and assumed that even if someone did find it, I would never see it again. It's so easy to stick in a pocket and pretend it was never found. Amazingly, when we called, the person at the front desk went looking for it, found it, and was honest about it! We're a bit of a forgetful family, and we've left things in other Peruvian hotels, such as headphones, and when we returned within an hour of checking out, the items were "never seen" and had magically disappeared. Luckily, we were able to run back up to Lunahuana and get my ring. Wow! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a relaxing, clean, beautiful place to spend some time, where you can feel at ease knowing that the people around you are good, solid people you can trust.
