Akasaka, Roppongi
Not so long ago the Akasaka and Roppongi areas were famous for their nightlife, high-class restaurants, bars and clubs. More recently, with the opening of Roppongi Hills, Tokyo Midtown and Akasaka Sacas, the area has declared itself as the most fashionable spot to be seen. The area also hosts the National Art Center and the Mori Art Museum and lots of trendy art galleries.

So it is an average 3 star hotel. OK for a business stay, but would not stay here if travelling personally. Checkin: was OK, the staff speak English fairly well and was given WiFi password. Which worked for half a day as on Monday the password is reset and a new one is

I hadn’t been to Tokyo before and reviews suggested that Chiyoda or Shibuya were good neighbourhoods. Chiyoda is more central, so we chose this neighbourhood and hotel. It’s a fine place - rooms are very small but that’s common with hotels in Tokyo (and japan more generally).

It is hard to find fault with this hotel, located in a very convenient but less than happening area of Tokyo (close to the Imperial Palace grounds, embassies, businesses and government/political offices). The subway stop is close by, allowing easy access to more lively areas of

The location of the hotel is perfect for those wanting to visit the Imperial Palace and the National Theatre. It is walking distance from the Budokan indoor arena where major concerts and major Sumo contests take place. The Hanzomon metro station is only 300 metres away with

A decent hotel in a good location in the business and diplomatic area. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean. We took one of the Japanese style rooms, which are made up as living areas during the day then converted to Japanese sleeping in the evening. This

We came into Haneda and checked one suitcase needed for a different location, so we hauled our remaining suitcase and took the metro. You buy a card with cash only and use it to enter and exit each station. I think we put 2,000 yen on it. We had to get to Hanzomon Station. Someone at the airport can give you the route which is via Ginza Station and a short hike to transfer. Coming back to Haneda we connected with the the train to arrive right at the airport. These stations are huge so it's handy to consult the maps there to exit where you want. The hotel is only 2 blocks from one corner of the station. Elevators don't always go to the exit you want but extra walking might beat dragging your luggage up four flights.....those metros run deep! Be sure to get advice and maps from English info because once you are enroute you might not find English assistance -- although the metro visuals are in English too. Have fun and check out the Apple store for deals -- no taxes! and you can declare it to avoid duty.

Tokyo Metro trains run between 5:00am and 1:00am. Trains generally comes every 10 minutes early morning and late night, and are punctual. Tokyo Shuttle - Keisei Bus also runs from 5:00am to Airports. It's always good to check up-dated information online.
