Neighbourhood
Akasaka, Roppongi
Not so long ago the Akasaka and Roppongi areas were famous for their nightlife, high-class restaurants, bars and clubs. More recently, with the opening of Roppongi Hills, Tokyo Midtown and Akasaka Sacas, the area has declared itself as the most fashionable spot to be seen. The area also hosts the National Art Center and the Mori Art Museum and lots of trendy art galleries.

So, I'm going to be honest with you. Before staying at this hotel, I stayed at the Hilton Tokyo, which is probably the premier hotel in the entire city. After checking out of there, my mother and I went to Kyoto and then returned to Tokyo and so our expectations may have been higher than they should have been for Japanese hotels. Either way, when we got here we immediately noticed how cramped it was. Even just the two of us with our luggage genuinely barely fit in the room. The beds are basically on top of each other and look nothing like the thumbnail picture here on trip advisor. The beds are also quite firm and don't have much cushion, but if you're out exploring all day, you really just need a place to lay your head. Breakfast is included, or at least it was for us, but it's all frozen food that's prepared in the hotel's cafe which is basically a Starbucks only for hotel guests use. It's frankly pretty disgusting and a waste of time. I'd instead op to explore some of the food places outside the hotel. That brings me to location. It has an amazing location, located right next to a metro station which thankfully has an escalator and connects you to the rest of the city. I mean right next to, too. Like 30 metres next to. There's a Bic Camera right next door too, some great eateries and a bunch of other things so location is excellent. Customer service is meh, asked for an umbrella like we did at all our other Japanese hotels and basically got told "nah, but you can buy one, we sell them". Overall, if you can get a reservation for like 120 USD like we did, I say go for it, it's definitely prime location and a good deal. Just temper your expectations.

We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights from end of June to beginning of July (rainy season in Tokyo). I don’t think you can get anymore convenient than this hotel. The walk to the subway station is less than 1 minute door to door (we timed it), it’s extremely convenient when it’s raining outside. Location of the hotel is centrally located in Tokyo, only a few minutes by subway from Shinjuku/Shibuya. Family mart, 7/11 and Daily Yamazaki are all close by, multi floor Bic Camera right next to it and tons of restaurants in the area. We got the Classic Superior Twin Room and are surprised that it’s more roomy than we thought. We expected a very small room with but it’s actually not bad for a family of 4 (kids are 7 and 9). Room and hotel is very clean, staff are nice. We got a non smoking room (did not smell smoke in the room) but can smell it in the hallway. I would totally stay here again if I come back to Tokyo and will definitely recommend this hotel.

New hotel located near akasaka mitsuke train station exit 10 which is 2 mins walk if you cut through the small alley in between 2 buildings. Plenty of eateries around the area. I booked 2 hotel rooms of the same size and category but turned out one of the room was alot smaller which we (hubby and young son) hardly had space to walk. I mixed up the room key which the receptionist assigned to me and my parents. The smaller size room was 619. There is a coin operated self serve laundry room on level 2. A coffee machine is provided at the lobby for guest. There are teabags in the room but no bottled water given. Mini fridge is functional. Toiletries are provided in the shower. Clean towel and bedsheets. Overall this hotel is a good choice ince it has a direct train line to ginza and shinjuku.

The hotel was very chic I must say. But the rooms were pathetically small. For a family of four it was like living in a bathroom with another bathroom. Breakfast was at excelisor Cafe which is in to public as well. Breakfast was good however everyday they would do some confusion regarding the drink. Despite of showing a photograph in the menu card. The hotel was centrally heated and we used to be literally sweating while we used to be in the room. We asked for a fan and it helped a lil bit. It was suffocating. The hotel had a coin laundry.... So it helped... Also drink vending machines and ice machine were available.... I couldn't understand one thing that they would drink ice water normally but the hotel was heated beyond belief coz it was supposedly cold.... Anyways we hardly stayed in the room. Used to be roaming all over the city till late night The neighborhood is very active with lots of pubs and bars and lots of people. Nice location but poor choice of rooms..... Twin economy..... Another thing..... Kids are not included in breakfast. You pay or you order separately for them at the cafe...

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel which was a modern hotel that was clean and tidy. Rooms were not overly huge but that is Japan for you! Breakfast that you pay the hotel for is provided by the adjoining cafe and has set breakfast menu that has 6 choices, most are bread or a roll (either ham or egg), plus small dish with some yogurt & coffee. My husband is gluten free so only option for him was the rice & fish combo. You could pay for extra items if you wanted to. Wifi in hotel worked well and the bathrooms although compact had everything you wanted plus the toilet with Japanese functions such as warm seat, cleaning functions etc. Beds again are Japanese size small than a double from home and are very firm. TV in room but only one news channel in English but when in Tokyo you do not want to be spending time in your hotel room.

Breakfast was in the cafe attached to the hotel and we paid for what ever we ate in the cafe. I assume you will need yo do the same unless you gave some voucher system included in your tariff. I have no idea on cots - sorry!

Transportation from the airport to the hotel.
We took the Narita express to Tokyo station, we pre booked seats and bought tickets for the train in a JR travel office at the airport. It is about 50 minutes to Tokyo station. We bought a PASMO card (at the airport) which allows you to use the subway and buses without needing cash - we took the subway - very easy Ginza line or Marunuchi line - the hotels website has the station number on it. Leave the station and turn right through a little arcade, go first left and first right. Literally a two minute walk from the station. So very easy we have booked a return trip to this hotel in October, the main reason being ease of using the transport from the hotel. Good luck! Tokyo is fun!
