I would commend the Hyatt Regency Tokyo for the cleanliness of its rooms (kudos to the housekeeping staff), the professionalism of its check-in/check-out personnel and to the helpfulness of its concierge. Hyatts in the U.S. can learn something from the way the rooms are cleaned in this Hyatt. It seems like they changed the shower curtains daily so we never...

Great location, staff was wonderful. Had access to Regency Club and it had great food and drink choices. Mentioned it was our honey moon and they gave comp half wine bottle. Location is very central to Shinjuku area.

Great location to explore Tokyo from, quiet at night, friendly staff, 2 subway stops in close walking distance, 7-11 convenience store & post office in basement. Large comfy rooms with tea/coffee making facilities.

Rooms are very spacious by Japanese standards. Some fittings in the rooms are rather old. Quiet and clean. Limited places to dine around the hotel. Metro station (Tochomae) is directly below the hotel but not the most convenient line. Main Shinjuku station is about 500m away. Hotel provides a shuttle bus that runs every 20 mins but stops at 9:30pm...

This Hyatt is located in a great area, close to shopping and food in Shinjuku. Lovely hotel with a handful of nice (expensive) restaurants. You can walk to the subway, shopping and many restaurants. Very friendly staff who are incredibly professional.

To give you some context, this was my 12th or so trip to Japan since 2007, so I've stayed in a variety of hotels there. Also, during this trip, I utilized my Chase/Hyatt points for stays at: The Hyatt Regency Tokyo, Park Hyatt Tokyo, and the Andaz Toranomon Hills Hyatt. Transportation: Our first stay on this trip was at the...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
