Location is quite a travel from the airport but is within a walking distance of a temple, Tokyo Tower and subway stations. The hotel are surrounded with various restaurants. The staffs were really friendly and accommodating but do not speak and comprehend much english. The rooms were small but clean. Overall, a great hotel.

I stayed here for 10 days as I traveled around Tokyo. It is right next to Sensoji Temple and close to numerous JR and subway stations. The Ginza Line is right outside the door. The staff is friendly, though the English was limited. It's best to have some Japanese language skill, however, even with my limited Japanese, I was able...

This is a spacious, clean, plain hotel with a friendly and polite staff who speak some English. We stayed in a semi double room with a double bed, television with only Japanese channels, a clean but small bathroom with a hairdryer, and a small fridge. The room was comfortable and the lobby contains a free computer for guest use. Although...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
