Great little hotel for a reasonable price within walking distance after being brought to Ueno station by the Skyliner from Narita. The reception staff spoke very good English. The breakfast was excellent and provided plenty European and Japanese choices. The rooms, though typically small as most Japanese rooms are, were comfortable and included all the little touches to make your...

I have stayed there for two days in November. I chose the hotel due to the prize I have found and also for its location. Just 5 minutes walk from UENO station where the Skyliner train to and from the airport stops, and also two subway lines meet. I was given a single room on the 5th floor , overlooking...

Easy 1 stop access to Tokyo on the Keisei Skyliner brings you to this lovely midsize hotel across the street from a park with a lotus pond, temples & some of the best museums in Tokyo. The International breakfast buffet was generous & fresh. The shared, same sex only bath rooms were clean & welcome after a day of sightseeing...

This hotel is an excellent compromise between good quality and reasonable prices. It is a thin high-rise building, very tastefully decorated, a few hundred meters from Ueno station and facing the Ueno pond. The pond area is very good; the back alleys are seedy (but safe). The rooms are small (which is normal in Japan) but not minuscule. Service is...

Clean. Very helpful staff. Unlike Korea, hotels in Japan seem to focus more on the local clientele as not many labels are in English....not even the emergency buttons! Had to get assistance to use remotes for TV and airconditioner. Bathroom was 'compact', measuring 1 X 1.5m but still managed to fit in a bath, shower, washbasin and toilet. The room...

The rooms are really, really small --> think of being on a boat or in a small trailer. The bathroom is slightly larger than the toilets on aircraft. There is no room for a big suitcase. We brought two carry-ons and that was barely ok. There are no hanging closets and no drawers to use. This size is ok for...

Loved it, despite small space and no cupboards. Great view over Ueno Park and lots of eating places nearby. Convenient for subway too. Nice ladies bath, all to myself. Breakfast offers Japanese or western food and the viennoiserie is very good. Tea and coffee in the room, in fact everything you need even massage units!

Spent 9 nights. Hotel located little out of top Tokyo spots but next to 4 underground lines to is easy to get there. Very good connection to Narita airport with Skyliner. Rooms are small but well equipped. Very clean. We had a nice view of Ueno park. Staff are friendly. It is possible to drop off your luggage if you...

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in July 2016. It is very close to Ueno Park. Across the street is Lotus Pond of Shinobazu Pond. Regarding transportation, it takes about 5 minutes to walk to Ueno Station. If you enjoy shopping and dining, there are many stores and restaurants near the station. The service is good, and hotel...

Very well appointed high-floor room with views over the lily pond. The rooms really are as small as you'll read, but there's really no feature or extra you'll go without. Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast buffet every bit as good as described in other reviews.GF used hot pool and gave it the thumbs up. Close for Keisei-UENO Stn....

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
