We had a lovely 3 night stay in a traditional style room. It was a really neat experience! The staff was warm and friendly and always very kind and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. We enjoyed the opportunity to “work the space” and make our beds each night.

Enjoyed our time in Taito area of Tokyo at the aero Sakura. The room pictured was not the room given to us. Staff was extremely friendly. We chose the traditional beds whereby sleeping on the floor. The wi goi did not work in our room which was disappointing the tea ceremony was excellent as well as the breakfast

This is a wonderful small hotel in Tokyo. The staff are delightful and were always generous and attentive. The rooms are ‘Japanese’ sized but they are comfortable and very reasonably priced. Everything is scrupulously clean. For a very small charge, the staff did our laundry. There is also a private bath on site which you can book for a small fee. What a great way to relax after a day’s sightseeing! There are not a lot of restaurants around but there are plenty one station away at Ueno. We loved this hotel. There are 2 other hotels in Kyoto.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of our Japan trip and loved it. Super friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to offer advice and make sure our stay was great. We stayed in a Japanese room which was clean and functional. If we went again we’d ask for extra futon mattresses but it was ok. Restaurant recommendations they have were great. The onsen was nice but I would question whether it’s really large enough for 3! Loved the area, lots to do and not too manic. Will definitely return next time we’re in Japan.

Our stay at The Edo Sakura was amazing from the moment we walked in the door. A beautiful, quaint place to stay in a quiet but very convenient location. ALL of the staff were next level for their friendliness, and were extremely helpful in every way, from walking us to a restaurant, to waving us goodbye from the street. I would have to say it is probably one of the best customer service experiences I have ever experienced. The hotel is beautifully traditional, clean and welcoming! We will definitely be staying at The Edo Sakura when next in Tokyo. THANK YOU for an amazing stay!

From the minute we arrived we felt welcome. The staff here are just wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly. We had 2 rooms and both were perfect. We did get an extra futon mattress for added comfort. The rooms and the whole building are perfect. We could do the laundry ourselves or have the staff do it. I booked and used the hot bath which was wonderful. We ate breakfast each day and it was always fresh and delicious. The Edo Sakura is well located near transport, convenience stores and restaurants. Each day we would find new things in the area. I had some Japanese friends come to visit me and was so happy when I came downstairs to see them that they had been there welcomed in and given some tea to drink. When we left the beautiful staff called the taxis for us and then waited and waved us off. Thank you to all the staff at Edo Sakura for making our stay so perfect!

We had a very enjoyable stay at Edo Sakura hotel. Staff was very friendly and warmly welcoming, and the hotel located in a very peaceful neigbourhood (15 mins walk to metro) is very charming. Room was very comfy and bedding offered a perfect rest. Definitely a place to recommend

Nice hotels are a dime a dozen, but every now and then you come across a little gem with so much charm and character that it becomes one of those places you know you'll come back to. Edo Sakura is one of those places. The traditional-style rooms were comfortable and well-appointed, with all the modern amenities you could need while still retaining the feel of traditional authenticity. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Everyone I met there felt like a new friend! The tea ceremony was very special and memorable, and don't pass up at least one visit to the public bath. This place is also very conveniently located for using public transportation. All in all this was an ideal stay!

We booked a Japanese style room for 10 nights here. We could not have found a better base for our Tokyo exploring. The entire staff became like friends during the week. Any question we had about transportation, nearby restaurants or things we needed for our room were taken care of quickly and honestly. I wasn't sure what to expect with our room since we were sleeping on mats on the floor in our Japanese style room. After a few minutes of lying down I realized I needed an extra mat and pillows to be comfortable. A call to the desk later and they were delivered to our room with no problems. The breakfasts you can purchase are well done and prepared individually. We had breakfast here about 4-5 times during our stay. We also took advantage of their ofuro (hot bath) for 500 yen for 40 minutes. It was so nice to soak in the hot water at the end of a long day of walking. The hotel is on a quiet street off the main road but within a 2 minute walk of a convenience store where we purchased bottled water, snacks and even some meals. It is within walking distance of Iriya and Uguisidani Metro stations. If we are ever in Tokyo again we will definitely stay here, I can't recommend it highly enough. Yoko and Toshi were extremely helpful during our stay, going out of their way to make us comfortable. A plus for foreign travelers is most of their staff speaks outstanding English as our Japanese is very rudimentary.

Lovely hotel with delightful touches such as a tea ceremony room (daily at 10.00), a hot bath (daily 15.00-23.00), communal breakfast tables, small Japanese garden, smoking room. Serves delicious breakfasts ranging from a full fish breakfast to yogurt and toast. Rooms exceedingly comfortable although not large. Small bathroom with shower tub perfectly adequate. Very friendly staff with good english. All in all a fabulous base for exploring a vibrant, exhilarating city.
