Excellent location. Close to subway. Great cultural experience as well with authentic Japanese breakfast offered daily. Shared washroom facilities and shared access to a hot tub. We loved our stay here Room is very small with little more than room for luggage and sleeping. Bedding rolls away so you can have space to hang out.

Thank you for posting. In February, we renovated the 2nd floor "Urashima Shower" and the 3rd floor "Kaguya Shower" and restrooms. The shower room is equipped with two shear heads and a rain shower so that two people can use it, so you can use it 24 hours a day whenever you like during your stay. The floor of the shower room is made of cobblestone, which was popular in the Showa era. I think you'll feel good on your feet and feel warm. The wall tiles are round mosaics with a retro feel, giving the second floor an atmosphere of being under the sea. On the third floor, I used my favorite colors to create brightness and warmth. By the way, I did the mosaic of the bathroom by hand. it was fun. We look forward to your next visit.

Highlights - Very cozy! The staff were so kind and helpful, and helped us call a taxi and explain 2/6 people in our party were riding with all of our luggage to our next place of stay. - 25 min walk to Senso-ji Temple. Easy peasy. - The futon was comfortable and we had a good night's rest every day for sure. - Japanese breakfast set was fantastic. You have to order ahead at reception or using the room phone. They use seasonal ingredients/dishes! Western breakfast also available. - Super efficient use of space, and really clean bathrooms despite sharing per floor. - They provide sandals for use inside the ryokan. Tips - There is no elevator but you can use the dumbwaiter to send up your luggage, then receive it on that floor, which was very handy. - Book your time to use the private spa/jacuzzi on the top floor before you go out for the day because the reception closes around ~10:00p. If you haven’t been to an onsen or public bath, they have instructions posted. - Many Japanese accommodations (and malls) blast the heat in the winter but if it gets stuffy you can crack open the window easily and safely.

Compact ryokan in north-west of Tokyo, about 10min walk from Metro. The futon bed was very comfortable - best I have had in a ryokan. Great nights sleep. Top floor jacuzzi which can be booked 30mins at a time - that was a welcoming and relaxing treat. The Japanese breakfast was amazing, especially the plum-filled rice balls. Best breakfast I’ve had on this trip

Stayed at Andon Ryokan and was thoroughly impressed. Despite the rooms being tiny, they were the epitome of minimalist elegance - spotlessly clean with an intriguing architectural design. The contrast of dark walls against light interiors was both aesthetically pleasing and calming. After navigating the hustle and bustle of Tokyo, returning to such a serene, clutter-free space felt almost therapeutic. The jacuzzi was the cherry on top, providing much-needed relaxation after long days. The host family was incredibly warm and helpful, ensuring our stay was comfortable. Its location is a bonus, being just a 5-minute walk from the Hiyoda line. Highly recommend for a tranquil retreat amidst the city's chaos.

Minowa in Taito Ward is an area called Shitamachi, which is famous as a town with a streetcar in Tokyo. Although it doesn't have the bustle of Asakusa, it has prospered as a town where ordinary people lived since the Edo period. The neighbors are still getting along well. I think that it is the best place for those who are not good at downtown. looking forward to seeing you coming again.

In July 2023, my wife and I booked this hotel for two nights, and this hotel made it one of our best experiences in traveling in Japan. As a Ryokan, sleeping on the ground and dining on the Japanese table (you can also choose a normal table) with Kimono was great. The best part of the hotel was breakfast and dinner. Make sure you reserved dinner as well. I am sure our dinner on those two nights was one of the best. In General: The toilet and bathroom are shared on each floor. The room and other amenities were clean. The location could have been better, but you need to make sure how you will shuttle in Tokyo in your plan.

We stayed here for two nights and had a great time . We were checked in by Taka who helped us a lot with his suggestions on things to do. The place is close to station walking distance and Tokyo is well connected so subway is your friend to explore. We did Asakusa walking and thus explored the downtown feel of Tokyo. The room is Japanese style and tiny but it’s Tokyo so that’s how it is :) Even though the size is snug they provide you with all amenities , even Yukata and Nice Japanese reasonably priced Bf set. Bathrooms are plenty so you will not have to wait and they are stylish. We could see the passion and pride the family has running the place. If you like art you will have plenty to see on walls and don’t miss the Jacuzzi experience, after sightseeing it was a perfect way to end our day. Thank you Taka and family for your warmth .. we will always cherish our time in this cute stay.

The hosts of this wonderful, stylish, authentic ryokan could not have been more helpful, not only in Tokyo but on our trip across Japan. The dinners and breakfasts were delicious, the jacuzzi beautiful and the rooms comfortable and included lovely Japanese robes, tea and toiletries. Bathrooms and showers were impeccable and laundry available. The area is close to the Ueno park with its numerous major museums and a quiet relief from the center of Tokyo which is nevertheless easily accessible by metro. I cannot recommend Andon Ryokan enough. Thank you Tata and family I hope to return soon

I really enjoyed my stay at Andon Ryokan. The ryokan is only 5 minutes away from the Minowa Station. I would recommend getting their dinner and breakfast to go along with your stay - very delicious home cooked meals from the owner. Place was very clean and the sleeping pad was surprisingly comfortable. I would stay here again.

Hotel: First, I write something about the Hotel. The Hotel is clean, have friendly staff, and they can speak English. The rooms are small, but that's normal for Tokyo. The showers are clean and also the room. The Futon mats are comfortable to sleep on. The location is perfect: Asakusa, ueno and Akihabara are very near to the Hotel. A plus is the terrace and the jacuzzi. The breakfast: The breakfast is well-prepared, and you can feel the power of love in the dishes. I will never forget the taste of this Onigiris any more, because they were so lovely. Conclusion: Overall, it was one of my favourite Hotels in the whole journey of 3 weeks. I will come back in the next time I am in Japan and recommend it to other people. Well done

Andon Ryokan's rice balls are very popular. The seaweed for rice balls is procured from a famous store in Toyosu. This is the secret to the crispy texture and delicious rice. Please come and eat again. I am always waiting for you.
