Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

I stayed at Avondale for a night this week while on a fishing trip. It is a lovely house, easy to find and in a pleasant setting just outside Pettigo. I had on the road to Lough Derg. Comfortable room and bed. I slept soundly. Mary made me a great full Irish breakfast which is served in a nice bright lounge. I would recommend this fine B and B to anyone passing through or as a base for fishing, sightseeing etc. I visit the area a couple of times each summer to fish in Lough Erne. This is an ideal place to stay.

My friend and I arrived on a wet miserable Sunday afternoon.
We were made so welcome, a pot of tea and homemade scones, whilst we settled in, and adjusted to our surroundings.
Spotlessly clean accommodation, comfortable beds, and we enjoyed an excellent cooked breakfast before we travelled on to our golfing competition a short distance away.

My sister and I stayed last weekend and we had a very enjoyable stay. The room was excellent , super clean and all facilities available. Tea and coffee making facilities were available. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast provided by Rachel. There was a great variety and all fresh and tasty.

We would definitely recommend this B and B to everyone. It is in a great location, parking excellent and close to amenities.

We look forward to returning next year.

The loveliest, homeliest B&B. Mary was so welcoming and offered us tea and homemade scones the moment we came through the door. The room was so comfortable, and beautifully decorated. I stayed at this B&B as part of a 7 day horse riding tour around Donegal, this was by far the best B&B we stayed at.

Peaceful and Beautiful! Very clean! Mary is very friendly and takes good care of her guests. I must say this was the cleanest room we stayed in our entire trip. There is a tastefully decorated sitting room with TV and free internet available. We arrived early and it was no problem. She had brochures of different places to visit in the foyer. Will definatly stay again!

Stayed here some time ago for a night and had a lovely time - the host Mary was very friendly treating me like one of the family -- indeed all her family did. Hope to visit Avondale again shortly and beautiful Pettigo/South Donegal

We have stayed with Mary at the Avondale B&B twice, now. We just love the homey atmosphere Mary provides. The house is spotlessly clean. Lots of room in the bedroom and bathroom. Mary goes out of her way to make your stay a good one. She treats you like you are her family. Beds were comfy. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Mary makes her own brown bed. It was my favorite part of the breakfast. Mary gets five stars from us! There is nothing to improve - it was perfect!! We will be back!

Room Tip: Personally, I like hearing the sheep in the morning, so I like the room on the end near the sheep.

Mary was lovely, nothing was too much trouble for her. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. The breakfast/sunroom was bright and took in the country views and the communal lounge room was homely.

Best B and B we stayed in during a trek on horseback across Ireland and Northern Ireland. Clean, comfortable, friendly and fantastic homemade food!! Mary arranged for us to take a taxi to Enniskillen for our rest day and made recommendations for sight seeing. Overall charming and lovely!

Avondale Farm was an excellent base for us to explore this interesting country. The room we had was spacious and comfortable and the ensuite spotless. Mary made us so welcome. She went out of her way to help us locate some traces of my family history in the area. Her breakfast was generous and delicious. There was a lot of information about the area, history and sights to see.
