Temporarily Closed As of 7 July 2018: Little Kwara camp is closed for rebuild and will reopen in 2019. Opening dates will be announced to the travel trade in due course. This exclusive camp is located within the game rich Kwara concession, which borders the Moremi Game Reserve on the northern edge of the Okavango Delta. Little Kwara offers all the activities one expects in an exclusive concession in the Okavango Delta - day and night drives, game walks, power boating, mokoro trips and fishing (spinning equipment is provided but fly fishermen need to bring their own equipment). Please note fishing is only offered in the open season March-December. Similar to Kwara, Little Kwara is known for its consistent sightings of predators. Herds of elephants also frequent the area, as well as giraffe, zebra, sitatunga, lechwe, impala and hippos. Wild dogs have also been seen in the concession although less frequently than the northern camps.

I had an awful time here due to a combination of false advertising and lazy arrogant guides. If you see 5 herds of elephants in 5 days, where there were between 5-8 individuals in each herd each time, the chances of seeing a herd of "over a hundred", which is advertised on the website, seem very slim. VERY expensive and not worth it compared to a lot of the other options in the area. Guides were lazy and didn't want to put any effort in. complained to me personally when we were late back to camp because we wanted to watch the wild dogs which were further away than they wanted to go. Expected better food than pap for the money.

We stayed 5 nights in this camp and we didnt regrets it. Great guiding by Mr. T and KP and very good hospitality. After the dinner when we were back in our room, an elephant plucked at our tent roof- very amazing situation

We recently returned from a 23 day trip to Africa where we visited four uniquely different safari camps including tent camps and lodges. Little Kwara was the best of the tent camps. To start with our guide and tracker were passionate about their work and willing share stories about their culture and about the animals we encountered and in the four days we were at Little Kwara we saw a lot of animals. The only big game not present are Rhinos - the rhinos in Botswana being endangered and not commonly seen in the Delta. It seemed like around every bend was an animal or bird and we got so close to lions, elephants leopards and fairly close to hippos. We also saw cubs and pups and the not too often seen Wild Dogs on a hunt.It was amazing. We went on morning and evening safaris and one bush walk. Most of the safaris were in a Land Cruiser but one evening we took a boat ride and one morning a canoe trip. I am sure our guide wore a watch but you would not know it. If we were looking at anything of interest there was no rush to get back at a certain time. The pace was very relaxing. The rooms at Little Kwara are built on pilings and look from the outside like very large huts made of canvas, which they are. Inside they are nicely appointed with a comfortable king sized bed, nice sitting area, wonderful patio, an outside shower and inside tub. They are really spacious and with all the windows they have a very airy feeling. For sure they exceeded our expectations. The food was not as fancy as one of the high end lodges we stayed at in South Africa but considering the remoteness of the camp, it was excellent. One night before dinner the staff sang and danced. One young lady had a wonderful voice and the entertainment was a nice surprise. I understand the camp is going through some upgrading so in the future it should be even better than when we visited and that may be true for the camp structures but there would be little to improve on when it comes to the staff. Go to Little Kwara. Your safaris will be amazing and the camp will exceed your expectations. They did ours!

We completely lucked in to Little Kwara for our first safari experience. Great location, glamping tents, amazing game (thick on the ground). The best part however was the team. The managers Okyi and Lesso, the camp team Charlotte, Kate and Wami, and the guides and trackers, Josiah, Jaco, Mike and KLB. All were amazing. We had the whole camp to ourselves which made it even better. Highly recommend Little Kwara and the whole Kwando experience.

The main purpose of a safari is to see the wildlife. The viewing at Little Kwara was unbelievable. If we had never left the camp we would have completed half the checklist. Our guide Josiah and tracker Mike, were fantastic. They moved the vehicle ever so gently into position and enabled everyone in the vehicle to get a great photo. In our three days, we saw wild dog pack with pups, leopard and cubs, lionesses with cubs as well as hyenas and jackals. Josiah's knowledge of the animals and the birdlike was almost encyclopaedic. We did a game walk, mokoro and boat ride with Josiah and Mike. All great experiences. The accommodation was very good, and food in camp excellent. Thanks to Lessoe and the team. I just hope that with the refurbishment, the vibe and atmosphere, and feel of Little Kwara is not lost.

What a place. Our stay was truly magical. Elephants and leopards walking throught the camp at night, baboons and vervet monkeys during the day. The quality and variety of the food far exceeded our expectations, particularly when you consider where you are located. Our room was comfortable and well maintained. The staff led by Lesso and Oiky were top notch. Their dancing and singing on our last night together with all the staff at the camp was fabulous. Our driver Josiah, together with tracker Mike, were first rate. The bush walk we did with them has to be a must for anyone visiting, and safety and awareness was clearly top priority before conducting any activity. We couldn't praise them hightly enough. Would we go back? Would we recommend Little Kwara? In a heartbeat.

Make no mistake, you're roughing it when you come out here. But it was a once in a lifetime experience. We loved it. The food was wonderful, the staff overwhelmingly gracious and helpful and the guides knowledgeable and safety-minded. We were among the last guests before they revamp it, but I will remember this safari for years to come.

Little Kwara is an absolutely amazing, intimate and perfect camp in one of the best areas of the Okavango Delta. We travelled there from Johannesburg and it was an easy flight and connection and into camp in the middle of nowhere effortlessly. The camp itself is gorogeous and fits perfectly into the Delta and your cabin, with screened walls, brings the bush right into your room. We slept so well with our water bottle warmers under some covers (it was chilly at night but this is the best time to go to the delta). Our guides, mister T and tracker KP were fantastic even when chasing wild dogs at a high clip. We saw an entire wealth of animals and birds and water life - definitely recommend the boat safari (although it is better later in the year when drier). The food and staff under the management of Leso and Bebida were terrific and entertaining (kady was fantastic and OKs cooking quite amazing). The feel of the camp is perfect for making you embrace the wilderness the entire time, from outdoor fire camp breakfast to going to sleep at night to the sound of lions

Overall: Good service, accommodations, guiding, and food. It had a very rustic feel. We were told that they will be renovating the camp in the fall of 2018. I hope it doesn't scare away the camp warthogs. Mama and Papa brought their four little piglets to the camp often. Dislike: They use "bonnets" (roofs) on their safari vehicles. I sat in the back seat frustrated for about 20 minutes while everyone else in the vehicle watched a male leopard in a tree. Because of the roof, I could not see. When I asked, Management will not take off the bonnets. In fact, the camp manager, instead of listening, he spent a large amount of time, justifying his position. We visited several other tented camps in Africa, none used "bonnets". Something to consider. Review: We stayed at Little Kwara in the Kwando Concession for several nights in April 2018. Our tent was large and well kept. The shower was attached but outside with no roof. There was a large area with twin sinks and a single toilet set aside as a dressing area. The twin beds were comfortable. There was a nice deck outside. We did not use it much. Overall, the tent was rustic and adequate. There is a nice pool. We did not use. We did like the flow of camp - how it was set up. While the water was low, the Okavango Delta are in general was beautiful. Our guide, Tom was very knowledgeable. I often felt though like he was very interested in positioning the vehicle so that he could take his own pictures. He moved the vehicle several times as I was taking pictures. I finally got frustrated and asked him to get us warning before moving. Likes: They offer both land and water options. We did the boat trip as an evening game drive. It was stunning. Food: While the food served was good, it was not as plentiful or varied as at other camps that we visited. Tea options were limited. However, they did make excellent hot chocolate every morning for me. Staff: They were polite and serve was good. They did not feel as friendly or as customer focused as at the other places we visited. We did visit some very top-notch places while in Africa including Mashatu and Mala-Mala.

This was a perfect place. Large room, with a good bed, large bathroom, with outdoor shower and a view over the plains where hippos and other game mind their own business. An elelphant visited our camp many times and monkeys walk around. Breakfast is around a campfire and simple. Lunch, high tea and diner are a home cooking style, always tastfull and of high quality. During the gamedrives we did see male lions, many cheetah’s and Leopards. The staff is perfect. They want to make you feel like a home away from home. The succeeded.
