This was a game of two halves. We stayed 2 weeks ago for one night and it couldn't have been nicer. Nice room, great dinner and lovely breakfast. We went back last night just for dinner and my God, I don't know what happened but the food was absolutely diabolical. I ordered the same thing I'd ordered 2 weeks ago...

We stopped in for lunch with our 2 dogs. The staff were very friendly and the dogs were more than welcome and the staff offered dog biscuits. Lunch was good quality home style cooking, the sausages are very tasty and you can tell that they are butchers made and not mass produced. We'll stop there again when we are in...

On Tuesday afternoon I popped in and was greeted at the bar by the husband and wife owners. I asked if they had any 'tablet' for sale. The answer was no and quickly...

A proper pub. Dogs welcome. Service excellent. Run by a really friendly family who were very welcoming to all of us , whilst we were on holiday in the village. Food good. Would recommend the lamb or the sausage and black pudding. The best black pudding I have ever had!

My wife and I called for dinner on Saturday night whilst staying in the town over the weekend and we were completely blown away, I had the Steak Pie which was fantastic and I followed this up with Sticky Toffee Pudding, my wife had the Goats Cheese Tart and followed this up with Ice Cream. To add to our evening...

This is one of two main places to eat in Newcastleton and the other one is next door. We couldn't chose which one but the kids decided upon the Grapes. Good choice. Food was great and a nice atmosphere plus the Tennants was good.

We go to the restaurant every time we're in Newcastleton & the food is superb. Fantastic gluten free options too! I would recommend it to anyone. The staff can't do enough to help & make the children feel very welcome
