We were a little worried by the bad reviews of this hotel, but were pleasantly surprised. We had a room at the front of the hotel, overlooking the lake and therefore the railway, but had no trouble sleeping at night. The hotel is not that special by American standards, but the beauty of the town makes up for the hotel... More

The hotel is facing a beautiful lake but then there is also a train that passes by every 20 minutes until the wee hours of the night and comes back very early morning which translates to no sleep or minimal sleep because you can really hear the noise from the train regardless if your windows are closed. There was no... More

Me and my family took a Cosmos tour this year (2013) and before we left I did a little researching on the hotels and where they were located in case we wanted to venture out at night...when I researched this hotel I was horrified by what people had said about this hotel.....a good piece of advice....they were WRONG!! No it... More

Nestled along a wonderful lake and a mountain, the scenery makes for a wonderful place to stay. However the hotel's interior and facilities where a little underwhelming not doing the position justice. Stayed as part of a tour group that centered its activities in Lucern's, around 30 minutes drive away, which really speaks volumes on how much cheaper it was... More

Not impressed with this hotel as a coach tour venue. Noisy 'cos trains and church bells going off throughout the night which meant we had to close window , then too hot - asked for a portable fan ( no AC), guess what ..... No fan. Meal very average. Cosmos must change this venue to keep clients -especially with word-of-mouth... More

The scenery surrounding the hotel is breathtakingly beautiful. Lake Lucern is right in front of the hotel and the Alps surrounding the lake. If you decide to stay in this place, ensure that you get a room that is not facing the lake. This is because there is a train station in between the hotel and the lake. The trains move... More

We traveled with the Cosmos tour and stayed in this hotel in July. I have to say, this was my favorite place out of all the hotels we stayed at. Yes, it could use some updating. I would suggest air conditioning so the windows could remain closed to help drown out the train noise, but overall, I was quite happy... More

We stayed in this hotel in June on the same Cosmos tour as "cminors" (review below), and would reiterate everything in their review. The host was rude and unhelpful, everything seemed too much trouble, perhaps the tourist industry isn't her thing. Anyway, we had a room at the back of the complex, train noise was less, but the room was... More

I read many reviews about this hotel before I took my Cosmos tour and I wasn't sure what to expect. My room was at the back of the hotel with not much of a view, yes the bathroom was tiny, the meal we were served was a good 3 course meal. Free wifi would have been great but paid for... More

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at - the food barely fit to eat, the staff rude and resentful, the manager incompetent, no porterage, no air conditioning but you cant open the windows because of the trains passing by every 15 mins so close you can feel the wind and also the bell clock chiming...
