We have lost count of the times we have spent at the hotel. It is the place to stay for 2 weeks R&R. Clean rooms, with extras found in more expensive hotels such as a bug plug, take your own inserts, Kettle, take your own cups, although Giannis will probably lend you some for the holiday or you can buy some from the shops 100 yards away, Air con, a must during the hotter months. Ironing board and iron. The rooms are cleaned every day. Breakfast with everything from Honey, melon, jams to cheese, meats, breads and cakes, 3 different at last count.
The beach is just 150 yards away, plenty of sunbeds to choose from. Buses to Aegina where there are loads of shops, cafes and pubs are 1.80 euro are just up from the hotel. There are also places to see and Giannis will be glad to advise how to get there.
All in all a great place to stay and wind down

Lovely hotel in a perfect location, 2 mins from the beach and the centre of the village. Giannis and Aggeliki are the perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Good breakfast with selection of cereals, meat, cheese, eggs, fruit, yoghurt etc and you can eat as much as you desire.
The rooms are bright and airy and equipped with very comfy beds, TV, kettle and A/C. There are balconies to enjoy the views and sit and relax.
We have been staying at this hotel now for 14years and highly recommend it, you won’t be disappointed.

Great location just a minutes walk to a beautiful beach. Rooms were small, but had all you needed. Great front desk staff, super helpful. He also printed quite a few things for us that we needed for travel (PLF's and Testing documents). We will definitely be staying here again when we are in Aegina again.

Some reviews may say these rooms were small, which they were, but this is common for European hotels. We did not have any issues or complaints, and were very very happy with our room and stay.

Very picturesque place, good and clean hotel, kind and helpful staff, comfortable beach and everything is so near! Great option both for a short and longer stay! You can visit also Temple of Aphaia and it takes around 40 minutes of hiking right from the hotel.
You can also come here by ferry from Athens which takes 30 minutes and you don’t have to go to Aegina port. You just come here and find the hotel in 2 minutes.

My boyfriend and I visited Aegina Marina in June and stayed at Hotel Rachel and we fell in love to the hole place. We loved Aegina Marina! The beach, restaurants, weather, atmosphere and the fact that it was easy to visit Athens for a day... but Hotel Rachel made our trip to what it was. We have nothing bad to say about this hotel! Our room was clean, breakfast was variable and hospitality was amazing. The owners Maria and Giannis made our trip. There were nothing they wouldn't do for us!

It was money well spent.

Thank you Maria and Johnny B! Hope we see you soon!

Mona and Ville

Unfortunately hospitality doesn't make up for rooms last renovated in the 1950's the size of broom closets or breakfast with eggs boiled in a black from fungus & mold egg cooker...placed out of sight behind the bar. Breakfast is vast...with stale sugary prefab stuff that will never reach it's expiration date. Tiny scruffy claustrophobic rooms. The rooms are so small, even the largest room isn't comfortable for two adults with suitcases. The shower head has no hook to hang it from...nice! All rooms have paper-thin walls and doors so you can hear everything going on around you. Because of the price, you'll run into various sorts of guests, including characters who start drinking Johnny Walker at 0900 am, alone, on their balcony with yellow fingers from chain smoking. Do yourself a big favor and spend twice the money on a hotel that is 10 times nicer. Agia Marina in general is a no no. Find a nice place in Aegina town where all the nice restaurants and shops are as well as the nicest beaches 15 mins away.

Our stay at hotel Rachel was unbelievable!!The rooms were fully equipped with air-conditioners, tv,telephone and refrigerator! The room service was incredible and on a 24 hour basis. We had the cleaning staff daily in our rooms and would provide us with new sheets and towels daily. There was a wide variety of food served for breakfast and there was no limit on how much you were aloud to eat.The staff in the hotel were very friendly, hospitable and always available whenever needed. The beach was walking distance from the hotel so we did not need to take our car .Our car was safe in the hotels parking. The hotel is in a beautiful location in Agia Marina and we had everything we wanted very close to us so getting around was no problem. We had a wonderful time and we are planning on visiting Hotel Rachel next month for a longer stay this time .

My sister and I spent 3 days in Aegina in the most wonderful place. We felt since the first day great hospitality from the owners of the Hotel Rachel, the security, location, services, food and cleanliness are excellent. it is the best hotel that you will find in Aegina, besides the prices that offers Hotel Rachel for all this and more are worth it. It really feels like home because the owners are the ones who run the entire Hotel so the is a personal treat. Also Hotel Rachel offers breakfasts with great variety of things you can eat, all of them very tasty :) You need to stay here if your are looking for fun and new experiences!

I chose this hotel based on reviews. I happened to get one of those smart prices and honestly did not know what to expect.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant ... you cannot beat the location, 50m from the beach, the quality of the hotel, the bed was fantastic and new, high speed internet everywhere, i could check my mail whilst having a morning coffee overlooking the beach and, the polite demeanor of all the staff and the owners Yiannis and Maria... and lets not forget the price... what value.

A note for first time travellers, you can get a ferry direct to ayia marina from pireus, wish I had known that when I booked my ticket from pireus.

I will definitely be back.

Probably not for you . Quite a lot of steps at hotel (even on ground floor ) and steep slope to beach plus gentler slope to village centre restaurants
Answer from Giannis D
Dear valued guest thank you for your message! Breakfast is open buffet and cost 5 Euros per person per day. Best Regards Giannis Hotel Rachel
