We were stuck trying to find somewhere to stay on our road trip to visit family in Shropshire.
Sophie & Andy kindly rallied at no notice to take us in, (2 adults and 2 ickle terrorists) and put us in their huge room with en suite shower.
We arrived to a warm and cosy room which made us feel like courtiers in Henry VIII's time, with high ceilings, a massive bed & opulent fabrics and throws - all to snuggle under against the horrible wet and windy weather outside during Oct half term.

We all slept like logs and woke up to stonking hot water and a powerful shower to welcome us into the day. We all came downstairs to what I can only call a banquet breakfast!
Carrying forward the Henry VIII theme you sit at a very long banquet table & chairs - all adorned with lovely china. The whole house is incredibly old so you feel part of history just being there! My only nerves came from all the delicate items in the room within reach of my 2 curious little ones (5 & 4) who wanted to pick everything up and regularly caused me heart attacks even though the owners were relaxed about it all.
You make your breakfast selection the night before and everything is cooked fresh to your order, locally sourced and utterly delightful including homemade bread, marmalades and jams.

Stay here, you won't be disappointed - the breakfast is worth the cost of the stay in itself :o)
If we found ourselves in the area again, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Very welcoming hosts Sophie and Andy who was very pleasant! Me and the girlfriend used our voucher through buyagift and we couldn’t of been more happier, the 400 year old property was really ooozing with character and that rustic feel to it.

We stayed in the ‘Cider room” which when we opened the door we was both wowed with how much detail has gone into the room. Tea and coffee making facilities within the room, tv, a nice big fan if you decide to get too hot in the room, however the bathroom done it for me, very nice and modern and the hand wash/ bodywash is to die for!!!!

Breakfast was definitely award winning quality! Absolutely cooked to perfection and had no faults with it whatsoever, definitely worth trying out.

Lea house is situated perfectly as you are next door to the Crown inn which is only a 2 minute walk away, however you can travel out to other villages/market towns which isn’t too far away.

I would definitely highly recommend staying at Lea House as the host really make your stay very welcome and very friendly, I will be definitely be back in the near future.

We just stayed the one night to visit family in the village and we were more than pleased with Lea House. Sophie and Andy were spot on as hosts and they have the required safety measures in place re Covid-19. Our ensuite (great shower) room was large, clean and comfortable, the bed very comfy. Breakfast is pre-ordered the night before, plenty of choice and it was excellent; lovely fresh fruit and good cooked food, on hot plates, always a good sign. Good coffee too. We will go back.

What a wonderful weekend away staying at this gorgeous guesthouse. We were made to feel very welcome and Sophie and Andy were on hand to help with anything we needed. Andy showed us his garden where he grows the fruit and veg that Sophie uses to cook up a breakfast feast in the mornings. We had a full English with all the trimmings one morning (all organic meat sourced from local butchers) and kippers the next. It was delicious and kept us going until the evening. Sophie also makes her own granola and jams and sets the table out charmingly each morning.
The guest area of the house has its own entrance, living and dining room. The inglenook fireplace, beamed ceilings and thick stone walls all add to the character of this beautiful building.
There’s so much to do just a short drive away and Sophie and Andy are happy to recommend activities and walks. We filled our weekend walking, taking in the most beautiful scenery, canoeing and eating. With the occasional riverside pub stop-off to take in such a beautiful area of the country.
We’ll be back to the Wye Valley again and wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else. Thanks for having us.

We stayed here with our pup for a week. Sophie and Andy were great and extremely helpful. Our pup has tummy problems and is on a raw diet. They kept all our raw food frozen for us and made sure we had some defrosted for use daily. Despite Luna escaping one morning and ending up doing a mad run into their private space they were so accommodating. Sophie cooks an amazing breakfast to order daily, the BnB is clean, beautifully kept and handy for local regions. We are walkers and found it really easy to navigate our way to fabulous walks every day. We even ranged to Penn y Fann in the Brecons. Highly recommend staying here.

Lea House really is a wonderful, comfortable and relaxing home from home, and we cannot recommend it highly enough! Sophie's breakfasts are extraordinarily good - with home made bread and jams, and delicious top quality sausages and bacon. I loved the addition of scrumptious fried bread - took me straight back to my childhood! The fresh fruit with homemade granola and greek yoghurt was so moreish ! Sophie and Andy are both warm and friendly souls, and really cannot do more to help. We stayed in "The Hayloft", which was very spacious and had lovely views of the garden, and an amazingly comfy bed. We thoroughly enjoyed our two night escape - our only break in this bonkers year. Thank you Sophie and Andy for letting us share your comfy home and making us feel so welcome! We will be back!

A tip for those staying on a Sunday or Monday evening, when there are fewer pubs open, the family run Italian restaurant "Avellino's" in nearby Ross, is excellent!

Our 4 night stay with charming hosts Andy and Sophie met all our expectations and more. We stayed in Hayloft, a spacious room with comfortable king-size bed and tea/coffee making facilities. The en-suite shower/toilet room was modern and efficient with good lighting. Breakfasts prepared by Sophie were superb with lots of choice from homemade and locally sourced products.and big enough helpings to set us up for the day. Andy tends a colourful garden where guests are invited to relax if so desired. There are many beautiful and interesting places to visit in the vicinity and the hosts are knowledgeable and helpful for those who want assistance in planning their day. Many local hostelries provide good food at reasonable rates. The warmth and friendliness of Andy and Sophie are the ultimate icing on the cake.

We stayed at Lea House for two nights (Friday & Saturday). Sophie and Andy are great hosts and provided us with such a warm welcome. They are really friendly and have good knowledge of the local area to help guests get the best out of their time in the area. The room was lovely and spacious, very comfortable. The bed was super comfy. Teaand Coffee making facilities in the room always very welcome. Breakfast was very good. Plenty of choice, from fruit, yoghurts, cereal and of course cooked breakfast to order, which set us up for the day. We couldn't have felt safer in these strange times we are living in. Lots of attention to safety of guests, with the NHS track and trace check in app, lots of hand sanitizer and they even had a supply of masks should guests have not brought them. All in all, a perfect base for exploring a beautiful part of England. Thank you Sophie and Andy for your hospitality.

My decision to book this b&b was a late one ,but reading some of the reviews it helped reassure me that I had made the right choice. On arrival we were impressed by the location and character of the property, but even more impressed with the reception we had from Andrew. The accommodation was more than we could ask for for a one night stay but we would be more than happy to go back again and stay for for a week . It was full of charm and character , comfortable , bright and warm and to top it off the cooked breakfast was amazing . All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our short but sweet stay and would highly recommend Lea House and its owners Andrew and Sophie, who made us feel very welcome, to anyone who is looking for accommodation in this area of natural beauty .
