Travellers' Choice
Situated in one of England’s prettiest villages, The Slaughters Manor House is a beautiful 17th Century manor house which combines contemporary interiors with country charm, attentive service and one of the most acclaimed restaurants in the Cotswolds. Spring 2016 saw the entire ground floor renovated to restore the character of the building, exposing and emphasising architectural details contrasted with a modern, vibrant interior design.

For the money I was very disappointed about the quality of the room and en-suite neither were as clean as should be and was all tired and dated . Food was excellent evening meal and the breakfast which made the overall stay ok . But I wouldn’t stay there again and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else which is a real shame as I thought it was going to be special . Drinks were massively over priced 2 Hendricks gin and tonics you could buy a whole bottle of Hendricks for that price which I think is extortion.

I was a little bit worried about this stay, (which was rolled over from a Stay that couldn’t happen because of lockdown) mainly because of the recent reviews on this site. I can’t speak for previous guests, but we experienced none of these problems. The hotel is in a picturesque location with lots of nice places within a nice country walk. The room was large, well equipped, and clean and well maintained. The food was truly excellent and different. Most of all, the staff were friendly, enthusiastic, and nothing was too much trouble. Yes, it’s not cheap, but logically to maintain this beautiful building, and level of service, from the revenue of 19 rooms, it is never going to be. I would definitely return.

Poor WiFi. Rooms were not very comfortable, no fridge. Drinks in hotel were extremely overpriced, more expensive than most London venues. Ok hotel but not for the price. The location was lovely, breakfast was ok.

Close to perfection, but unfortunately let down by breakfast (one would have thought the easiest service to provide!!) My muffin was burnt and eggs hard, whilst partner's bacon was undercooked. Small aspects to pick up on, but it was a fairly expensive evening!! We also felt that the drinks were very pricey, but it was an otherwise very good stay - awesome dinner, room, furnishings and staff all very friendly.

Having seen this impressive-looking building several times from the road over the past few years, I’d always wanted to visit. Finally I managed to find a slot. I wish I’d never bothered. We were greeted by a waitress in a near-deserted hotel bar & seating area that, despite since we were not hotel guests it would simply be impossible to serve us. It felt like we were being looked down on. First time as a (potentially) paying customer I’ve ever been prevented from from joining a hotel bar, and for no good reason. They hotel rejected us, so we’re rejecting them. Fair?
