For an overnight stop before or after a ferry to or from Santander or Bilbao or for a stop for any reason or period of time this would be a brilliant place. Beautiful rooms, lovely grounds with a wood to stroll through, a great restaurant for the evening meal and lovely breakfast. To be honest we couldn't fault it and,... More

Located quite close to Santander its an excellent hotel on the way or coming from the ferry port. Its very quiet and the rooms were large and comfortable. It provides secure parking and has its own quite extensive grounds together with a very attractive swimming pool. Very good value at around Euro 95 a night. The highlight however was the... More

Booked for one night after a ferry crossing to Santander prior to driving up through France. Is within easy reach of the ferry port (around 25 mins drive) and easy to find with sat nav. The hotel itself is set within splendid and beautifully kept grounds, behind an electric gate, and thus very secure. It is formed of a number... More

It is so quiet, fantastic rooms, grounds, food and swimming pool. Amazing value. We stayed June 2016 at €95 a night for a magnificent huge room. Great architecture and artworks. All kept to a high standard of cleanliness and care.

A wonderful romantic location with beautiful old buildings decorated with fantastic works of art and chandeliers. The bedroom we enjoyed was luxurious with four poster bed, misting room and terrace. The library and restaurants are lavishly decorated and the service and cuisine a real treat

Fantastic old buildings, lovely spacious rooms, splendid pool, fine dining. We stayed for a few days and loved this place. So romantic with character and an exclusive feel to it. Ideal place to explore the fabulous coast. Go for a walk along the magnificent Playa de Berria beach. We actually stayed in September 2014 but I only just got round... More

If a hotel is judged by a good night sleep, then we had a poor experience at this hotel. Sorry our experience of this hotel varies from most of the other reviews here. On arrival we were buzzed through the gates, but then found no one at reception. A lady then popped round the door to say she would be... More

This hotel looked after us so well we decided to stay another night! The location is majestic and is set deep in the countryside. The breakfast service was exceptional - they even cooked up something extra as we are vegetarian. A true home from home. Thanks guys.

My only regret is not eating a full meal in the gourmet restaurant. We stayed for 3nights in July in a large double room with en suite. No air con but a very pretty room with a balcony and a terrace for all day sun. The double bed wasn't huge and it wasn't the most comfortable either but otherwise no... More
