Detailed Reviews
Jim & Dorothy were the perfect host and hostess from the moment we arrived at Ruisgarry and throughout our stay. A warm, friendly welcoming couple gave us a home from home experience. Attentive and kind with discretion. A perfect location offered us exactly what we were looking for on our road trip to Skye. Very comfortable accommodation in a beautiful, tranquil location with spectacular views which we soaked in each evening on our return from the garden seats, watching the sun set. A tasty hot cooked breakfast each morning to set us up for our daily adventures. Thank you both for your hospitality we loved our visit and will return.

Loved everything about this place! The views, the hosts, the bed! Everything was very comfortable and Dorothy went out of her way to make sure I had a packed lunch and had everything I could possibly need. Was incredibly kind and quick with her responses, and very sweet. I arrived later than check-in time but communicated this with her and she was incredibly understanding! I will be returning here when I next come to Skye.

Needed decent accommodation at relatively short notice, and after my 8 hour drive and performing recovery duties in the rain for others en route, arrived at Rusigarry in bedraggled state!. Such a lovely, friendly and reassuring warm welcome from Dorothy set the scene for what was to be a fabulous stay. Lovely, easy to find, comfortable property with ample parking, and my room was superb with a splendid hot shower and TV etc. Arrangements for guests are first class and after a much-needed comfortable night's sleep, the breakfast was tremendous. Again lots of care and consideration to ensure a smooth and timely departure. Possibly one of the very best B&Bs I have stayed in. Highly recommended and I must return!

Comfortable twin room with fantastic views across Broadford Bay. Nice walk nearby to sandy beach at Ashaig. Ample parking.
Shame that breakfast wasn’t available - I didn’t realise this until after I’d booked. We stayed at 11 B&Bs in total on our Scottish road trip and Ruisgarry was the only place not serving breakfast! Most offered staggered sittings to accommodate customers.
Very small TV in our room. Would have appreciated more generous hospitality - one pack of two biscuits was a bit tight and bathroom toiletries were sparse compared with other B&Bs.

Response from Dorothy MacLeod, Owner at Ruisgarry Bed and Breakfast

Thank you Denise for your review. When you booked I made you aware initially of the measures we had taken due to the Covid situation, it is our home as well as a buisness. All guests have appreciated the accommodation and facilities we provide, whilst adhering to Covid regulations and are fully understanding. If there was a problem with the hospitality tray and toiletries I would have appreciated it if you had brought it to my attention and we could have rectified this ... this has not been a problem in the past.

We booked well in advance and had a great stay. The B&B is very close to the bridge that connects Skye to the mainland and offers a good location to tour the island. Our hostess Dorothy was very welcoming and informative. Our room was clean with a large bed and deep cupboard. The breakfast was nice. We particularly appreciated the great view from our bedroom window, having the luck of two sunny mornings. We can recommend.

Had the most fantastic week on Skye with my wife in what was a great B&B. The location is overlooking the sea and surrounding hills with breathtaking beauty. Ruisgarry is a lovely house with 3 rooms and a communal lounge. Because of covid there were some restrictions but this didn't spoil our stay. Our room was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. Our host Dorothy was friendly and welcoming. The island is incredibly beautiful with loads to see. This definitely won't be our last visit to Skye.

Host Dorothy was so lovely and couldnt do enough for us. Room was lovely. Views lovely. Breakfast was great. The only thing I would mention is if you're a light sleeper you may struggle as it is a creeky house but would definitely recommend people to stay here.

Excellent B&B. Spotless clean and well serviced with a residents lounge. Dorothy is a super host, happy to provide drying facilities, bottle fills and a provides an excellent breakfast of choice.
Handily located in Lower Breakish, only a 5 minute walk to Red Skye restaurant and 1.5 miles from Harrapool.

Dorothy was helpful from first contact. The property has great views and location for exploring Skye. Rooms were exceptionally clean, modern and reasonably priced. Nice relaxed island atmosphere. Will definitely use again

Great people made us feel so welcome. Lovely room with stunning views, and delightful breakfasts.
Dorothy’s husband is a Wasps RFC supporter and has a collection of special club shirts. He is also a Shinty aficionado with similar memorabilia.
There are some excellent restaurants close by. It is best to book the times, but Dorothy will always help if necessary.
We stayed for four nights, which is necessary if you want to see Skye, but it was no hinderance being in southern Skye. It was a lovely drive back each night back through the mountains.
