second time here - not enough staff in bar and food area, lots of very noisy pitches - loud music constantly and when we asked to leave 2 days early because of the noise, they offered no solution - otherwise, cracking location - just expect it to be horrendously busy, very noisy and slow service

Dear Paul and Sarah Emsley, Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not live up to your expectations. Thank you also for joining Tripadvisor to give us this feedback. I can understand that our campsite didn't suit you. If, in the middle of August, you're looking for an intimate place with few people, then campsite is not for you. But if at the same time you're looking for entertainment, facilities, an aquatic centre, restaurants, etc., then you need to stay in places with a minimum number of holidaymakers. I can also understand your annoyance at being refused a refund for your last 2 days, because you decided to leave earlier. It's not the campsite's fault, it's a matter of personal convenience on your part, and there's no reason why the campsite should lose money. I can understand that. That's probably why you're writing this critical review, because, as you know, the campsite is anything but what you describe. We're a family-run campsite, with the same family, generation after generation, at the helm. We are close to our guests, our grounds and our staff, every day. Our focus is on quality and service. We stayed here from May 29th until July 1st this year 2023. We have been coming to this campsite every year since 2014. This campsite never fails to please, except for one area the lack of evening entertainment. It seems a shame as they seem all set up for it with a big stage with a big screen and large seating area. I have spoken to reception about the lack of entertainment and was told it does improve in high season July/August, I can’t comment about this as my stay was outside these times. The toilet and shower facilities are the best campsite I have ever stayed at totally clean with full time attendants keeping it clean all day. Washing up facilities are also very good with lager sinks for hand washing. There are launderette facilities with washers and dryers you have to buy tokens for these there is a supermarket on site plus a restaurant with take away. The staff are very nice and helpful from the cleaners to receptionists in all parts of the campsite. As for child friendliness I can’t comment as we don’t have children all I can say there was a lot of happy children on site with plenty of things for them to do with lots of Sports facilities and the Swimming pool and unlike the adults the children do have entertainment. The near Surroundings areas have a few restaurants and bars locally (walking distance).Our favourite bar was the Tropic Bar just off the beach, we spent most evening up there. A little further away is the town of Sant Pere Pescador (bike ride or car) with bars/restaurants shops with a chemist if you need one, it also has a weekly market. On the edge of the town there is a supermarket with a petrol station To sum up this campsite I would recommend this to all ages it has good sized pitches with shaded …

Very busy well run campsite in an excellent location. Three resturants either on or adjacent to the site all off which offer excellent value. All facilities are kept spotlessly clean. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Second trip. I just love this place. It is huge and busy but exceptionally well organised and lead by hands on managers, very visible doing their rounds. Place is spotless, and i mean spotless. Fantastic amenities which are cleaned constantly by a wonderful team. Fantastic place for the kids with skate park and heaven knows what else, great pool, restaurant, bar, brilliant shop. Short walk into town. Bit noisy at night but camp shuts down around 12, the noise is from outside bars nearby. Site right on a great beach. Pitches are good size with various options for amenities such as own shower and loo on pitch. Ones on far side by beach have less shade but are quieter. I was very happy to go again this year for a couple of nights on route elsewhere and just relish the whole experience. …

Had a fantastic time with the family camping in our motorhome. The pools were excellent, the site is next to the beach, great beach bar / restaurant and the main bar / restaurants had great entertainment every night. We were going to go for a day trip to Girona but didn't see the point as my husband had a bad back but it didn't matter at all as there was so much to do on site. We were so sad to leave. We couldn't believe how clean the toilets and showers were kept and having a reasonably priced supermarket on site was really helpful. We will definitely be returning!

This is a large but truly excellent campsite. From arrival through to our departure the staff across the site were fantastic, always helpful and accommodating. Our pitch choice was a 180m2 pitch with our own private toilet and shower block. This was immaculately prepared and made such a difference throughout our 9 night stay. The pitch itself was fully private with discreet high hedging and shaded areas providing sufficient sunbathing and shading options for all times of the day. We have a large motorhome and this fitted comfortably on the pitch. Onsite facilities were first class with multiple pools catering for all ages, and a large restaurant with a varied menu reasonably priced. The on-site supermarket was winding down towards the end of the season but still held a large and varied stock to cater for all people. L'Amfora is a dog friendly site and there are numerous walking routes within close proximity of the site. Dogs are allowed on the beach but the dunes areas upon entry to the beach are out of bounds. We hired a car for 3 days after enquiring at reception from a local car hire company based in Empuriabrava. The vehicle was delivered and collected from the campsite and I can highly recommend this service should you choose to use it. Our visit to Amfora was fantastic, there is so much for the kids to do, they were only out of the pool long enough to do the obstacle courses and then they went back on the water slides. The pitches are large and clean and very private and ours was very close to the beach. Overall we loved it and will definitely go again. Ha sido una vissita perfecta, hay tantos cosas para los niños alli que me han dejado tranquilo todo el dia. Ente piscinas y obstaculos y esporte estaban entratenidos todo el dia y cansadas cada noche. Excellente!

This is our 9th year here. It is the best site we have ever been to. The cleanest, I have never seen staff sweeping the roads in a campsite before. The shower blocks have attendants who clean the showers and washrooms after every use. The children's playground is amazing. One is for over 4 and the other under 4. There is also a fit gym outside. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There is a well stocked camp shop that is not over priced. The beach bar is brilliant. Friendly staff and good food. There is a restaurant across the road which I would also recommend. Again good food reasonably priced. God willing we will be here again next year.
