Set just off the Green, the Arkleside, which was once a row of Lead Miners Cottages, has been tastefully refurbished offering a good and comfortable standard of accommodation in a peaceful setting. Guest rooms have magnificent views towards Fremington Edge and beyond. All guest bedrooms are centrally heated and come equipped with colour tv, tea/coffee making facilities, wifi, hairdryers and freshly laundered towels/bedding. There is parking in the courtyard at the front of the guest house.

We've just had a three day break and stayed at the guesthouse. The room was lovely and had great views. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept very well. The guest house is very well kept and very clean. The breakfasts are delicious and tasty and we really enjoyed our stay. Terry and Hannah are both lovely people and made it very welcoming for us. We'll definitely be visiting again in the future.

This was our third visit to Arkleside Country Guest House and it didn’t disappoint. We stayed in the annexe, which was absolutely beautiful. The double bed was like sleeping on a giant marshmallow - so comfortable. Loved the little touches left by Hannah and Terry: like everything you needed to make a cup of tea - to having the necessary items to wash up. We only made a few basic meals, as we ate regularly at The Buck just up the road, but we had everything we needed and more. It’s a great place to stay as a base. So many places to walk to. We highly recommend and can’t wait to return for a forth visit.

This is a real JEM of a B&B in a beautiful country village with fabulous views and amazing hosts. Terry and Hannah make you feel truly at home with locally sourced cooked breakfasts and great self contained rooms if preferred. Room was really clean and really comfortable beds. You won’t be disappointed to stay here. Will visit again very soon 👏

Reeth is a brilliant base to move around from. We booked a twin room for 3 nights through booking.com which said there was parking at the property. The first night we arrived we parked no problem though the spaces were very tight. On the second night there was no space to park and we ended up parking on cobbles across the green. Our room was on the landing at the top of a flight of stairs. The door was not made to measure and allowed light in from the permanently on stair light all the way around. The room was cramped . The refreshment tray was adequate- but lived on the windowsill. A small rail was provided for clothes and the tv was fixed to the wall. The bathroom was fine, quite roomy but had no lock and no shelf for own toiletries. The window was small and looked out on a roof and into the house behind. The beds were too soft and gave no back support so we didn’t sleep well. Wi-Fi was available and breakfast was extra- £12 each- though we didn’t eat there because you had to book time slots. We left after 2 nights having paid for 3. We did speak to the owner of the property but he said it was a cheap room, we should have looked at his website and we would have seen other, better rooms available ( we just booked a twin room via booking.com) , the one we had was described as a small twin he said and also that parking was first come first served. So do look at his website and don’t rely just on what a booking site tells you. …

There were 12 of us (3 generations of family). Arkleside was perfect, welcoming and homely. Terry and Hannah were perfect hosts and produced wonderful breakfasts, with the 'best' poached eggs. The Annexe was ideal as a family gathering place after a days walk. The 'Superior' rooms, with their fully equipped kitchens, were an added bonus.

What a fantastic guest house! Terry and Hannah are lovely, so welcoming and knowledgable about the local area. They were full of recommendations from which local walks to take, to places to eat in the evening. The hotel is cosy and warm and the room had everything we needed. We slept unbelievably well the bed was so comfortable. They also serve a brilliant breakfast.
