Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you are driving give this place a miss.. there is no on street parking and the car park opposite is for permit holders only......with a hefty fine.... suggest you carry on to Wilton which has pubs where you park in thier carparks for free, no permit required

Bar music was a bit loud for my liking but it was bearable in the restaurant. Hunters chicken. Was quite tasty! Staff were pleasant enough. Short review but that’s all I need to remind myself to stop by next time I am passing and in need of some nosebag!

The swan at stoford! This place has a wonderful homely feel! The staff are friendly and willing to answer the 100 questions I had about the area! Food was fantastic! We started with lunch and ended up staying the afternoon sitting in the riverside gardens! Then it was dinner time! Fish and chips is more like shark and chips! Brilliant portions! We will be returning and making this our family fish and chip Friday place!! Thanks once more!

A bit tired but friendly family running Inn. On very busy road with parking bay across road. Can be difficult to cross at times. We had a back room but could be noisy if at front of Inn. Breakfast and our dinner meal was very good. Room and ensuite very clean but dated. Not a large room but adequate. All rooms upstairs so if got heavy bags can be difficult. Parking is available opposite.

Chose the Swan because it was conveniently located for us to meet friends who were travelling from Bath to the New Forest and it was right on the road, with a large car park opposite. Do not be put off by the rather unprepossessing road frontage, inside it is very welcoming and there is a good seating area in the rear garden as well, although we chose to stay inside as it is now the wasp season. The barmaid was very friendly and they serve local beers as well as a remarkable range of spirits. There is an extensive menu, not always a good sign, but our food was all freshly prepared and excellent. The interior might be considered by some as a little dated but was entirely consistent with the nature and location of the premises and quite satisfactory. All in all, we were completely happy with our visit and I have no hesitation in awarding it a top mark

There for a family party and although the food was good, the pub just seems old and unclean. The toilets, had dead flies and seemed unclean. It is an old building so get part of it. The service was good considering the number being served. However uncomfortable chairs were not pleasant after a while.

Really lovley lunch sat outside in the garden. The service was smiley and quick! Food took a little longer than expected but it was worth the wait! The building does look a little worn down from the outside but I would come back again with friends and family!

We had a lovely stay at the swan in . Our bedroom was lovely and comfy and a big room . Food was delicious nothing left on any of our plates . The owners was so kind and took very good care of us the whole time we was there. We had lots to do around us as we was very central to get to many attractions. Will def be coming back year after year with my family what a wonderful stay highly recommend.

Great find for Sunday lunch. Traveling break with Motorhome & Touring Caravan, plenty of space to park in car park opposite. Fantastic roast with plenty of vegetables and all very tasty. Great, friendly hospitable service. Dog friendly. Can highly recommend and we will be back. Very helpful on food allergy front, I felt very reassured. Well done all round.

We pass this pub often and stopped in on a whim. I'm so glad we did! The pub is a proper old fashioned heart of the community pub. The kind of place you would be allowed to sit in the garden with your Dad and have a Panda Pop and a packet of crisps in the 1970s. In a world full of Gastropubs with Gastronomical prices and Weatherspoons this little pub is a beautiful find. Don't expect bland chain pub Brake Brothers grub here. When they say Homemade it's Homemade, from scratch. The Lasagne is to die for! Seriously! Best pub Lasagne I've tasted. My partner had the substantial Texas Burger, it has ribs in it so expect a little cartelidge. For dessert I had the Baileys Cheesecake, again properly Homemade and delicious and my partner had the Orange Chocolate Bomb. Beyond good and beautifully presented. A busy Road ( the A36) separates the parking from the pub, but this can't be helped as they can't change the space the pub, which is an old building, sits on. And the across the way parking was the only solution. It's well worth navigating the road for the food. Leave your expectations at the door as well, its like someone's cooked an evening meal for you in their kitchen. Which, to be fair, they have. Pubs like this deserve all the support they can get, so go support this gem.
