A clean and attractive entrance via a busy little village offered us a pleasant welcome on arrival setting the tone on a positive note for this hotel. Open only 5 days into the season when we visited, the hotel was fresh and staff were keen to help. Our room was sizeable with a modern feel. The frosted glass-fronted toilet was sufficiently private for us but the walk-in small glass shower area was too open to relax in. The Corfu sewage system can’t cope with toilet paper so you have to wipe and place used toilet paper in the bin at the side. This is somewhat tramatising bucking the habits of my 70+ years but I took comfort from the guide books which tell you this is normal in Corfu. The TV offered mostly German TV channels or programmes dubbed into German but had CNN and Sky news in English to keep in touch if wanted. The gardens were lovely and the designation of child-free areas allowed mature people such as us or childless visitors to find a tranquil spot to swim and dine. The lunch buffet offered a wide range of foods to suit all tastes and diets. Healthy options were plentiful. We took the All-Inclusive option allowing us to choose from a range of about of the 6/12 of the cocktails on offer. Conveniently close to the airport, we would recommend this hotel.

Hotel is very nice, food is exceptional. Bar staff are great. The sun is an extra (a little burnt). However Alex from the entertainment team went above and beyond; high energy, inclusive and an asset too the hotel, he is great! Will come back for sure!

A wonderful holiday in beautiful surroundings, helpful and kind staff, an ideal bay with clear water. The entire stay was crowned by the great animators who guided us through stretching, yoga, aqua aerobics during the day and were wonderful during the evening programs every evening. Ideal relaxation.

Where to start!!!! We had an absolutely fantastic time here from 5th of October for a week. The hotel is set out lovely with no high rise buildings. Rooms were modern and had everything you need. Mini fridge and tea/coffee etc..the beds were extra comfy best I’ve ever slept in there are 3 pools and we used the adults only Magda behind the bar was fantastic and so nice and friendly. Makes a change from arrogant Spanish waiters. There was none of this rushing in the mornings to get sunbeds there was always plenty to chose from. Food was the best I’ve had on an all inclusive holiday. Plenty of variety. The village itself is really just a small fishing village and very quaint. We didn’t use the beach. Booking tomorrow to return to Apollo palace next year!!!!

Just returned from a 10 night all inclusive holiday at this resort booked through easyJet, overall a good stay with a few albeit minor grumbles. The resort is handily placed only 45 mins by coach from the airport and although crowded our pick up by shared transfer went fine. Check in was quick and we were escorted through a maze of paths to our ground floor apartment in Hera block. None of the well spaced out blocks are over two stories high so the visual aspect is quite pleasant, especially as the well kept grounds are full of beautiful mature olive trees coupled with low hedging. Once oriented, finding our way around was reasonably straight forward in the day, and we were handily placed for pretty much everything. Our room was small but functional, with a king size bed, one double wardrobe and a desk. The lack of drawer and hanging space was a bit of a problem, given that the desk was quite long and ultimately a bit of a waste of space that could have been better used. The bathroom had no door, and the toilet had a frosted glass door with no lock. The room was cleaned daily and we were happy with that. We had a small patio, sufficient for two. Cats are an ever present in the Med and this place is no different, with lots of them wandering the grounds and also the dining halls, nobody worries and it didn't bother us. However, the place did seem to have more than it's fair share of biting and stinging things, especially wasps so be warned if you're suspectable, I always seem to be the all inclusive lunch for anything that bites. Foodwise, I am somewhat of a fussy eater but I had no difficulty finding something to eat everyday, lots of Greek salads available and always at least six or seven main courses, plus vegetarian options. Drinks were as to be expected, with a selection of basic cocktails included in the all inclusive, there are bars at all the pools of which there are three main ones. One of these is adult only, a nice touch as was the adult only section of the dining room, there were quite a few children there, it is a family oriented resort. Very few British whilst we were there, mostly German/French/East European, not an issue but things were accented towards the Europeans so something to be aware of. The evening entertainment started at 8.30pm with a kid's disco, then at 9pm the adult stuff, a group one night, Greek night another, then a movie quiz etc, usual sort of fare. I recommend exiting the complex by the beach gate, this brings you directly to the beach and various restaurants and bars, with supermarket type shops a ten minute walk further on. We ate out at one of the restaurants and it was excellent. That exit also brings you out to the Messonghi Travel Centre who run boat and coach trips all over the island , we took a whole island coach tour and a boat trip to the mainland, both excellent value for money. Overall a good, relaxing stay with beautiful weather the whole stay and our shared pick up for our return was bang on time and the flight home the same, so full credit to easyJet.

We were a bit concerned after reading recent reviews, but was pleasantly surprised that our holiday was what we had expected. We arrived late at night with my elderly parents. We were shown to our rooms, unfortunately mum and dads room was not suitable for people with mobility problems and as it was early hours of the morning we agreed to them being moved next day which happened without any issues. Our room unfortunately had quite a few issues fridge not working, air con not working and a horrible smell, however again we were moved as soon as we complained. The next room was suitable. Yes the rooms are dated and could be cleaner, but they are not unsanitary. The food was plentiful and replenished frequently through the service. Good quality was good with plenty of choice, however don’t expect food tailored for the English as your in Greece! The waiting staff in the restaurant were excellent. As we were a group of adults we only used the adults only pool which had a jacuzzi and it’s own bar. Magda our hostess around the pool was friendly efficient and worked hard every day of our ten day stay! I think my dad had a crush on her lol! The all inclusive drinks were not the best but you could opt to buy premium quality if you wanted. All the communal areas around the resort were kept clean, and we felt the staff did a great job at maintaining the public areas. The children’s pool looked good fun and again was suitable for all ages. We didn’t use the other pool but from walking past again it appeared well kept. There were always plenty of sun beds available. The evening entertainment was not for us and it appeared to be the usual sort of entertainment you’d expect in a family resort. The beach was a let down as it was tiny and not very attractive or easy to get in the water, however there were many bars and restaurants along the beach area who were very friendly and helpful. We would visit again but not in high season as I could see that it would become very over crowded especially in the restaurants and around the pools.

The easiest way I can write this review is by listing the good points and the bad points, I will start with the good points. 1. Corfu is a lovely island, we saw Corfu Town, absolutely wonderful, Issos Beach, lovely and Paleikastritsa, spectacular. We will definitely return to Corfu. 2. The food was very good, a good variety of substantial food. 3. The grounds and the layout of the hotel was lovely, all low level, and quite a maze! 4. When we had a difficulty in our first room (see below) it was rectified without question. 5. The location, the village, Messongi, is really nice, not busy, unspoilt and characterful with nice tavernas and bars. You always felt compleyely safe here. 6. The room and bathroom were fine. They were kept very clean by house keeping. 7. It was very relaxing, when you went out there was no touting like there is in Turkey, so you could go out and enjoy yourself. Now the problems: 1. There have apparently been issues with the swimming pools. We never saw anyone test the water or adjust the water in all our 11 days there. 2. Our original basic room was far too small for a holiday. The bathroom was tiny. There was no storage for clothes etc. there was no storage for suitcases, it would have been very uncomfortable for an 11 day holiday. As stated we complained and they moved us into a better basic room. We did visit a superior room and that was very nice. 3. There were no curtains in our room, only bug blinds and a net curtain, we were on a walkway and you could see in from outside. 4. Despite it being All Inclusive you had to pay for the sunbeds and umbrella on their beach. This was bad, but was compounded by the fact that there were no facilities on the beach. No toilet, no bar, not even a water fountain. 5. It is not the hotels fault, but there is a real problem with bugs and wasps. Take industrial strength insect repellant and after care. 6. The restaurant area was in need of a deep clean, the floor felt sticky. 7. The drinks were generally good, but not the cocktails, they were syrupy and not to the standard of the bars in town. With the All Inclusive, the paid cocktails looked quite nice. With the beer you could only get 1/2 pints with all inclusive, but you got a pint when paid for. (Which we have paid for as all inclusive) 8. Whilst this is not necessarily the fault of the hotel two of our party of 4 had serious stomach aches, which meant a full day in bed for each of them. All in all a very pleasant holiday, which has really enthused us for the Greek Islands. Whilst there were a number of issues as explained above, the holiday was generally very good.
