Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We arrived on a wet, cold Sunday and received the warmest of welcomes. We were shown to a beautiful, bright room that had the most exquisite views. When we had unpacked Kay brought up a pot of tea for two and some large pieces of warm lemon drizzle cake. Due to football, we had not been able to get a proper Sunday lunch and were most concerned we would not be able to get anything for the evening too. Kay immediately rang all the eateries she knew and booked us in for 7pm that evening at a hotel in West Bay. The following morning, we were shown to our table in the breakfast room and tied to my chair was a helium Happy Birthday balloon - such a lovely surprise. The breakfast was first class and there was a lot to choose from. When we had finished our meal, Kay entered the room with a large chocolate muffin plus candle, she then initiated a chorus of happy birthday. It was fabulous, she also brought in a smaller muffin for my husband so he didn't feel left out. This was such a wonderful start to a three day break. Our room was clean, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Our en-suite was also excellent and well kitted out with lovely fluffy towels plus a variety of extras - shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, cotton buds and cotton wool. Kay and her husband Julian have thought of everything to ensure one has the perfect stay and with their kindness, I had the most perfect birthday. Thank you both, we will definitely come again.

A great Bed and Breakfast and perfect hosts. Very much appreciated the tea and cake on arrival. I could have easily stayed a few more nights. Kay even arranged some good weather for my stay. Great place to explore the Jurassic Coast on foot and on bike.

My partner and I had an amazing stay at this lovely B&B. We managed to book a stay last minute just before lockdown 2 and we were so lucky. Beautiful large clean room and bathroom and brilliant location to get to Bridport, West Bay and Lyme Regis. Kay was lovely and caring, even with Covid measures in place she still took the time to talk to us and tell us about the area. A lovely stay and will definitely be back, would highly recommend!

Spent two night there and what a lovely place it is. My room was spotlessly clean, light and airy and a very well appointed bathroom . Breakfast was well cooked and there was plenty of it. The hosts were friendliness personified and I am already looking to make a return visit.

We stayed here for four nights and were so pleased we chose Halsons. Great room with excellent facilities comfortable bed and lovely double aspect. Breakfasts were excellent and made more so by our charming host Kay. Covid precautions were good and only two out of the three bedrooms used. We would recommend a stay here anytime
