Although apartments are not absolute luxury they are clean and perfectly adequate. The pools here though are lovely, although a bit cold, as are the very friendly staff. Not particularly grand but a good base from which to explore the area.
There are two airports but you need to choose carefully. Heraklion has flights direct from the UK WHILST, I believe, the other one uses routes via Athens. Also it is a Long Island so much will depend on where you are staying... More
