Lucky to have stayed for a 2nd time at the JW Marriott Guanacaste. This visit was for a work event, which allowed me to see even more of the excellent group event customer service.

Breakfast was included with our booking and was a very good, huge buffet (I mean expansive). There are at least five restaurants, and I may have missed one. The prices vary from typical pub prices at the sports bar to high end steakhouse. Most of it though (I thought) falls in line price wise with what you’d expect from most hotel fare of this rating. We had dinner one night at the Thai-inspired place, which was stellar in food and service, and entrees were about $20-25 for the most part. Our burgers at the pub were between $12-15, but the service was terrible. You are about 20 minutes from Tamarindo where there are grocery stores and a ton of eateries. Many of the ones on the main road through town are pretty expensive as they’re all owned by the Diria hotel. My favorite spot in Tama is La Oveja Negra (The Black Sheep). Super tasty and affordable outdoor dining.
