Have stayed now over 60 times and the Mahons always provides a warm welcome after a long trip and makes you feel like you have arrived at your 2nd home !! The food is always fresh, delicious and always typically go for their chicken Caesar salad with homemade soup and freshly baked rolls to accompanying. Also the stir fry noodles, chicken tikka curry and pasta dishes are must haves. If time permits, always recommend a pint with Joe ! The rooms are very spacious indeed and the Super king size beds give you a splendid sleep. Plenty of parking space as well in case you have large groups.
Our “bubble” visited Mahon’s for a meal - Joe, Paul and staff were excellent. The dining room and bar eating area are as COVID secure as possible and we felt at ease from the moment we went in. There was plenty of space without being lonely, the service was excellent and there was as much a Christmas cheer as could have been given the circumstances . The floor staff, waitresses and door supervisors are extremely professional and really know their job. Its great to see businesses open again and this experience us a real beacon of hope for the months ahead. Well done to everyone involved.
I've visited Mahon's many times and I am never disappointed. The staff are so welcoming and helpful. The public lounges are really traditional in their decor. None of the neutral browns and creams of modern hotels but rich reds and dark woods making it so cosy. The menu is very traditional too. We had a meal in the restaurant during this stay and it was so tasty. Really plentiful too. We stayed the night before the second lockdown and even though the staff did not know what to expect, they were still so helpful and cheery. The owner of the hotel is a great character. He spends time chatting to all guests and is entertaining to listen to. The bedrooms are very modern with modern facilities. We had a double room and the bed was huge and comfortable. We could even socially distance in it ! Bathroom was a good size and again had modern fittings. Spotlessly clean too. Would I stay again? Most definitely and hope to return soon after the lockdown is lifted.…
Pandemic caused us to move our planned trip to the North of Ireland. Anglers World recommended Mahons, this was a great place to stay for the week. Staff were all very helpful , Joe was the very best host. All the meals were perfect and the Guinness was just the ticket.
Have just spent a wonderful time at Mahons. After having two other holidays this year cancelled due to covid, we were lucky to be able to book this break in Irvinestown. What an absolute treat it was. Every member of staff that we met were fantastic. So friendly and helpful. Hotel bedrooms huge and spotless clean. Staff always cleaning and sanitizing main areas i.e.door handles, stair rails , tables. There was a great menu choice and portion sizes were huge. The atmosphere at this lovely place has to put a smile on anyone's face at this time of worry. A huge thank you to Joe and his family and staff. We will definitely be back Dave and Jan Harris
