Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A few of us were staying in a local holiday cottage between Xmas and New Year and decided to eat in The Victoria Inn on the first night of our stay. The pub was busy when we arrived but got much quieter as the evening wore on. The menu is limited but the food was hearty and well cooked. Pies are the one of the speciality dishes on the menu, though it would have been good to have a vegetarian pie as an option, as all the pies were meat. The bar staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would eat here again if staying in the area.

Really clean and comfortable room. The breakfast and the food for dinner are very well prepared and very tasty. Especially the pie with the beef in ale is a real recommendation and keep some space for the dessert. The staff is very kind and supportive, we really enjoyed our stay.

Friendly, unspoilt and traditional Yorkshire Dales Inn. Lovely staff, very comfortable accommodation, excellent and well looked after real ales and tasty food. Great location away from the hustle and bustle of Malham itself. Highly recommended.

A few of us were up in the area for 2 days hiking, so stayed here for 2 nights. It's a great old traditional pub with very friendly staff. The evening meals were excellent, as were the breakfasts. A real old world atmosphere, and in a quiet location.

We only visited for evening food on a Saturday night as we were camping down the road, but the food was brilliant and I was even more impressed by the service. All the staff were brilliant and extremely attentive. The pub itself had a real charm. I would definitely return!

We had a wonderful two night stay here. The owners are so welcoming and refer to you by name after first meeting which is a nice touch. The room was welcoming and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner excellent. Goode choice of local real ales. Ideal location for a walking break. 30-40 minutes into Malham on foot depending which route you decide to take. Looking forward to a return visit already! Oh, and the locals were friendly too!....

The Victoria is a picturesque Inn with four rooms. It has a very cosy, welcoming atmosphere with an open fire giving a warming glow. The family run team lead by Peter and Sue are very welcoming and offer plenty of advice about the local area. It is well situated for exploring the Dales right from the front doorstep with Malham Cove, Janet’s Foss, Gordale Scar along with the rest of Malhamdale in easy walking distance. The pub has a great selection of drinks including local ales and gin. There is a strong focus on local produce which is reflected in the excellent food. The food is, as would be expected in a traditional pub, is simply presented and allows the quality of the ingredients to come through. Both the evening meal and the included breakfast were superb and are highly recommended. The room that we had was a good sized double room with a bench seat built into the window. It was very comfortable and traditional with everything that you need for a good night’s sleep. There is strong Wi-Fi throughout the building if you are missing your connection to the outside world. We will certainly be looking to visit again.
