Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were only ther for one night but The hotel was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast had a very good variety with you not going away hungry. We had dinner there and it was fabulous, everything looked homemade and fresh.

We had to climb a lot of stairs but the room was very comfortable. Everything we needed for our stay. Clean and well functioning bathroom. The food in the restaurant was very good. We recommend the Seafood platter. Breakfast was excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

A lovely hotel that is a little dated in places, but you could tell that it had recently been decorated. The owners are lovely and the hotel is charming. Our large room overlooked the High Street and church. It was very clean and comfortable. The ensuite had a powerful new shower. Although facing the main road, our room was quiet. We stayed on a three night DBB deal which was very good value. The seafood platter was wonderful, as were the homemade brownie and sticky toffee pudding. Breakfast is served in the large function room. Decent selection of cooked food and porridge. There's also a 'retro' bread toaster for you to do your own toast!

Our Airbnb was withing walking distance so called in for food without a booking. Place wasn’t that busy and we got a table no problem. We both had fish which was OK but the batter was a little dire to be honest, we both like ours crispy and this just wasn’t, maybe caught them on a bad day. Service was very nice and the bar staff were friendly which for strangers like us is good. Place could do with a tidy up on the décor.

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Station Hotel, Portsoy The owners and staff were extremely approachable and nothing was too much trouble. Our party was there to celebrate our diamnd wedding anniversary and my sisters and brother in law's 55th wedding anniversary. The meals were fantastic and we would have no hesitation in reccommending this hotel. We hope to return next year. Thank you to all hotel staff for making our anniversaries really memorable. Christina

Spent 2 nights everyone was absolutely fantastic, food was amazing, I'm unable to eat full portions, the staff couldn't be more helpful and understanding, they said that that was not a problem. Our bedroom was very comfortable, and was fully equipped with a hair dryer, iron and ironing board. The selection at brakefast was absolutely excellent. Certainly no complaints from us highly recommended

This unassuming hotel in the centre of Portsoy turns out to be a real gem. Not because it is clean and comfortable, which it most definitely is. But because of its team. Lovely lovely staff. A great chef. A warm welcome. Pitch perfect. We only had one night. It would have been easy to linger longer if our schedule had allowed it. Wouldn’t hesitate to return. Three middle to old aged gents on a bike tour, very well looked after. Thank you.
