Went to the Barleycorn for a birthday meal. The atmosphere at this pub is lovely, the food excellent with a great choice on the menu. The interior decor is bright and cheerful without being OTT, the service was excellent and prompt. Highly recommend a visit.

We stayed just one night at the John Barleycorn after a very long, exhausting journey. It was the perfect place to recoup some energy - quiet, comfortable, homey with really, really good food (many of the items on the menu were locally produced / sourced) and friendly, welcoming staff. The fan in the bathroom was a bit noisy (but only...

As soon as we got to this delightful inn we knew we were in for a treat. It is so pretty from the outside. We received a lovely welcome and my husband couldn't wait to order a pint of his favourite Abbot Ale. We had a delicious lunch, hubby had the steak burger and I had a beetroot and goat's...

We stayed one night at the John Barleycorn whilst visiting Cambridge. The pub was lovely, people friendly and the evening meal was delicious. The room we stayed in was small, and it was attention to detail that let it down. Two of the lights didn't work and some of the bathroom fittings were close to falling off The TV was...

Had a lovely 3 course dinner in this gastro pub. The setting is lovely and relaxing, the service was prompt and friendly and the food was great. Starter of melted Camembert cheese was awesome with fresh granary bread. I had Cumberland Sausages on mash with veal gravy... wonderful and so much of it. My other half had lamb and although...

Lovely rustic old pub with nice atmosphere of a Saturday evening, well-served beer, decent dinner menu and personable service. We also stayed for a night in one of their rooms which was small but cosy, and when we arrived late for breakfast by 10 minutes after it had ended they were were still happy to serve us, so top marks...

Warm and friendly traditional country pub with better than average food and friendly staff. The lamb steak was cooked to pink perfection and the burger was delicious. Cosy interior and clearly a popular place. We booked ahead to be sure of a table - probably a good idea.

Our's was a one-night stay as we needed to be close to the IWM for my early-morning flght in the Dragon Rapide over Cambridge and Ely (recommended). I'm not sure if there is accommodation within the main building, but we were in one of four rooms (named after RAF Officers) behind the pub and adjoining the car park. In very...

Nice looking pub tucked away in the village of Duxford. Lunch time menu was excellent and competitively priced. Nice range of sandwiches and hot food in an oldy worldy pub. Nice range of real ales. Staff really attentive and pleasant. I will certainly return again soon. Plenty of parking at the back
