Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Penlan Coastal Cottages was a most perfect escape. The hot tub, the views, the mini golf and the most amazingly spacious well equipped cottage. Close to so many beautiful beaches, Aberporth, Mwny, Poppit Sands, Tresaith the list goes on - all fabulous for swimming too. Fabulous hosts and we couldn’t have asked for more. A big 5 Stars all round!

Amazing place, We drove down late on the Friday in the dark, the place was lit up and easy to access. From the moment we walked through the door we could tell it was a good choice, clean tidy and spacious. Waking up the following morning we got the 'wow' factor looking at the view. It might be a couple of miles from the bay area but all down hill so the full view was looking out to sea over green fields. Nice to have some things provided, dishwasher tablets washing up liquid etc, enough for us to last the week. Highly recommended and if going back to this area we will only stay here. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Millstone cottage is so comfortable, clean, quiet and private. A lovely cottage with great views of the coast and countryside. Jacuzzi with sea views and birds of prey, gorgeous grounds, trees and hanging baskets. Well equipped, lovely details, bedding etc. Brilliant location to walk to Aberporth (25 mins, on the way back up) The Ship Inn does lovely food -book ahead. Paddle board hire on the beach foz sups excellent, online booking and payment. Further afield (30 mins) we enjoyed river rapid kayaking on the Teifi river with beyond adventure. Also boat ride sighting seals and bottlenose dolphins with ‘a day to remember’. Millstone is a great base, Mwnt is only 15mins drive away, beach, walks very scenic. Also recommend Whitesands bay near St David’s about an hour away to a very beautiful beach. Found New Quay very busy and intrusive for the dolphins. Thank you Penlan cottages for a great stay 👍

We stayed here just as Wales' lockdown was lifted for self - contained accomodation. Our cottage was Millstone... Spotless, excellent attention to detail. Lots of thought has clearly gone into the facilities. Hot tub was an added bonus! A short drive into Cardigan for shops etc and lots to explore in the surrounding areas. We will definitely be back.

After much searching for high quality self catering we settled on Penlan Cottages and what a good choice that turned out to be. Penlan is a working farm and sits high overlooking Aberporth and the bay beyond. The grounds are neat & tidy, well maintained and with a nice natural feel. We were in Driftwood, overlooking a lovely meadow with novelty putting, a play house and tree-swing. The outlook from Driftwood is wonderful. The cottage has the 'wow' factor, it offers real comfort and comes with very high quality furnishings and fittings throughout, no cutting corners here! The free Wi-Fi works well as does the 'smart' tv. Mobile reception for us (BT) was good too. The bedrooms too are beautifully co-ordinated with delightfully spacious en-suites/bathrooms. A review couldn't be complete without mention of the owners who live on the farm, they offer a warm welcome, are friendly but discrete and more than pleased to help if you need such. Overall a lovely spot to holiday, peaceful and very relaxing. I have no hesitation in recommending and look forward to returning.

Just back from a week away, what a beautiful cottage, we had the most fabulous sea view from both the lounge and the master bedroom. The cottages are a bit off the beaten track, however, are ideal for both getting away from everything and exploring the welsh countryside. It was spotlessly clean, with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms of which one of the doubles is downstairs with a lovely en-suite shower room, this is great for people who are less active like my partners Mum. As well as being very clean, the cottage is very tastefully decorated and colour co ordnated throughout. The owner of the cottages is very friendly and has made sure that comfort is guaranteed. Thank you Sheena for suggesting we stay in Driftwood!

Wonderful cottage. Wonderful location. Definitely a 5 star rating. We would absolutely stay here if visiting the area again. The quality and attention to detail in the cottage could not be faulted. Wifi. Well stocked kitchen. Warm. Cosy. Comfy bed. Nice touches like a bottle of wine in the fridge make a difference. The hosts have got it right! Working farm complete with cats to keep you company if you want. Thank you for a relaxing short break. Dave. Newark, Notts.

What a fabulous location and amazing accommodation, the best holiday we have had for years!! We are a family of 5 with 8, 6 & 4 year olds so the layout of cornerstone with the kids bedroom and bathroom upstairs being perfect. Luxury for my wife and I downstairs (fabulous en-suite) The garden and tree swing was also fabulous, if I could give more than 5 Stars I would, definitely want to return
