Oh dear, visiting family in the area. Went here a few years ago and it was excellent. If however you want to eat lunch in the restaurant then avoid, I should have realised that when we sat down, empty! Lovely waitress who looked after us admirably. The al a carte menu looked good but, given that a lot of the...

Lovely old hotel, open fires. Great atmosphere. It was Christmas Eve so Carol singers in and the bar was packed. We found a quiet corner and had a very romantic evening, great food. Room was awesome, four poster bed, massive room and the bathroom had. Freestanding, roll top bath which was gorgeous. Lovely time, thank you

The genuinely old Churston Court Hotel strikes you at first as a curious labyrinth of rooms, some obviously for formal dining, others more as bars, some busy, others dark and deserted. In most of the rooms, corridors and passages you will find medieval portraits, weapons, suits of armour and other artefacts, most probably reproduction but nevertheless adding to a most...

Churston court is very different as it is full of character as soon as you pull into the car park you can see the atmosphere of the hotel which carries on into the building. This quirky and very oldie worldie hotel just grabs you and beckons you to stay. The bed rooms are well maintain and are of a good...

Would not recommend booking this restaurant for Christmas Day! At £75 per person, you would expect a high standard of food and service. Our dinner was over 4 HOURS, most of which was waiting. My two very young children ( ages 7 and 3 ) found this difficult. My family who were visiting from America for Christmas weren't impressed. This...

This was our 5th visit in 5 years, and unfortunately this was by far our worst experience. On all previous visits the atmosphere has been great, really friendly chatty knowledgeable staff, great locals and superb surroundings, but on this occasion we were really disappointed. The Hotel has changed hands, pretty recently, so I do understand there will be a period...

Arrived to check in with male staff at reception coming across blunt and nothing short of unhelpful. Room didn't have a TV ariel, there was a sewage smell coming from the bathroom, no water pressure in the shower, and carpet smelt of dog. Waited at reception in the evening to ask for ariel but no staff to be seen. we...

This was our 3rd visit to this wonderful character filled hotel. The new owner Chris is a fantastic host and has amazing plans for this fabulous old building......Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The lavish New Years Eve meal was excellent and could not fault it. Looking forward to a return visit soon.

A family birthday lunch on New Years Eve pre booked and food pre ordered was a disappointing end to a family Christmas. We were told on the day that food we had pre ordered was not available, menu options were changed without notice and that they had run out of roast potatoes. Service was pedestrian, meals arriving in batches of...
