Tried to book a meal here and gave up after 3 attempts! I inquired after a table for 2 in July for 8.30pm to be told they stopped serving at 8pm and I should try Castle Douglas for a meal. I subsequently e-mailed another 2 times asking for a table at 8pm with no reply. It must

What a totally exaggerated `review` !! You emailed me requesting a table for 2 on 26/7 @ 9.00 pm. I emailed you back to tell you that we stopped serving at 8.00 pm and suggested other places for you to eat if you wanted a later dinner. You then booked a table for 8.00 pm and I emailed you to confirm and requested that you arrive by 7.45 pm. Why is this a problem ???? And yes, it is great to be so busy on a Thursday evening in July - I have worked incredibly hard to make it that way - we have a very busy Hotel and usually only cater to residents mid - week, but was happy to fit you in.. I will cancel your booking.

I booked six rooms for a one night stay on a motorcycling trip around Scotland. Private gated parking at the rear, uneven ground, not secure. Clean and tidy rooms with full facilities,a little tired and in need of an update but comfortable. Bar doesn't normally open until 6.30

We have been trying to go for a drink in the bar at the Cross Keys Hotel for over three weeks, but the place is always shut. Sometimes it has an ‘Open’ sign hanging in the main door, but it makes no difference, it is always shut. Why doesn’t it just say ‘shut for the Winter from

The only night the pub is closed is Sunday evenings. We have a very busy Hotel and our residents eat and drink here. We do, however, close the bar once our residents have gone to bed as experience shows that midweek and winter weekends the village is quiet - with the exception of Wednesday night when the pub is packed for quiz night . We closed for one weekend in November and will close one weekend in December - for a much needed rest!!! Sorry our Hotel Bar opening and closing times haven`t coincided with your requirements - perhaps you could ring first?
