Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fabulous cottage. Very comfortable with all the little luxuries which make it a perfect retreat The location is wonderful for a walk into Beverley, with a welcome log burner to warm us on our return. We will be coming back next year for longer.

The farm cottages are the perfect place for our family get togethers. This was our second visit. Plenty of room for the 9 of us. Everything supplied to make our stay comfortable, with top quality furnishings and accessories plus private garden space. Thank you for a lovely all round relaxing break. We’ll definitely be returning

Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances we were unable to fulfil our booking. Elaine was unbelievablely kind and offered a refund which by today’s standards is unheard of. A friend of mine recommended these cottages to me and her reviews were wonderful

Wow an awesome stay our first time here ,and will definitely return. The best cottage we have stayed in (and we have stayed in a few) great locations, and Elaine is lovely there if you need anything, but otherwise left to enjoy your stay . Everything you could think of in the cottage and all to a very high standard even the fabulous private garden . A very home from home feel and our dogs loved it ❤️

As a couple, we found the Foldyard cosy, warm, spotlessly clean, and well-equipped. Parking was excellent. A warm welcome on arrival with a nice welcome pack. The information pack was the best we have ever seen and we are well-seasoned in self-catering. An extra toilet would be a bonus for 4 people. Would we come again? YES, we will.

So pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Next time have a look at Forge, Stables or Courtyard. All two bedroom cottages with either two bathrooms or an extra loo. Foldyard is a lovely cosy cottage with a great walled garden but it is our smallest cottage. We would love to see you again sometime.

We have been to Broadgate several times in the last few years and stayed in three or four of the cottages. They are all equipped to a high standard and we are repeat customers after having tried a number of other self-catering properties. Each property is well equipped, with additional equipment available such as shower stools. The site is lovely, with good size private gardens as well as grounds for all to use and attractive views. Nearby Beverley is a gem of a town, and the property is well placed for visits to the coast and to Malton and York.

We stayed at Broadgate Farm early-mid September. We chose Foldyard cottage because it offered good facilities for less mobile people and my husband is mostly in a wheelchair. When we arrived we were very impressed by the grounds leading to the cottages and the evident care that is taken to keep the grounds looking beautiful. Our first impression of Foldyard was that it looked immaculate and it was! The detail throughout the cottage was pin point and practically everything had been thought of, not just for the mobility impaired but for able bodied users as well. The layout was very good for a wheelchair user. The furnishings were lovely , the beds very comfortable and Elaine had equipped us with an extra armchair for my husband to use. The kitchen was well equipped with excellent utilities and the welcome pack was appreciated. The garden was a stand out point. A totally private walled garden with grassed areas as well as flower beds- it had a large patio with a huge table, chairs and sun umbrella. We spent the whole of one day just sat outside, reading, sipping wine and totally relaxing. Perfect. The location of Broadgate Farm is close to pubs and a village shop in Walkington with Beverley being just 5 minutes drive away with everything you could require in terms of shops, bars, pubs and cafes. The Wednesday market was a bit of a let down but the Saturday one was much better. Bought some amazing Cheeses from the Saturday market. The coast is not too far away - we went to Flamborough head and were impressed by the scenery and the relative quiet and Hull has some lovely surprises once you get past the industrial outskirts. Elaine was very welcoming and helpful but not at all intrusive. She was there if needed but let us get on with it - which we did. I cannot think of anything that we really needed that wasn't either in the cottage or couldn't be provided. Elaine kindly showed me a couple of other cottages that would also be suitable for my husband and I am pretty sure that we will return. All in all a really relaxing, easy holiday that was much needed. Thank you Elaine.
