Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed for 7 nights at the end of May and were very happy with the accommodations. For 6 nights we had the suite with a large living area with kitchenette and an upstairs bedroom with bathroom. Unfortunately, breakfast is not included with this suite, which was disappointing. (We had a different room the first night which included a delicious hot breakfast.) They did provide ingredients for breakfast, but cooking while on vacation is not our preference. However, the rooms were spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. WiFi in this suite is very unreliable, which was another disappointment. It was very good in the other room. The views over the Dee Estuary are just amazing, making it all well worthwhile. You can easily walk to the train station in 20 minutes. Ken is very friendly (he recommended a fantastic local wine shop, for example), and he and Sue made us feel most welcome. We would return here if/when we return to the Wirral.

Sue and Ken have both been such a wonderful support to me over the last 8 years I have been coming to visit my very elderly mother in Caldy Manor Barchester Home. I have had a warm welcome, a friendly chat, a cosy bed and a wonderful breakfast on every occasion I have stayed. I have been made to feel like a member of the family and I have really appreciated their kindness and thoughtfulness. I have no hesitation in recommending Warren Cottage to anyone who is lucky enough to stay. Diane Guildford, Surrey.

Spent a couple of nights here over Easter whilst visiting family in the Wirral. This is a lovely place to stay. Spotlessly clean, lovely rooms with amazing views and very welcoming and friendly hosts, Sue and Ken. The breakfast was excellent too. I would definitely recommend it and only wished we had a few more days to relax here.

We had beautifully furnished rooms with views over the garden and out to the beach and estuary (see photo). The beds were really comfortable, and bathrooms immaculate. Ken and Sue made us feel very welcome, and provided some excellent breakfasts. We only stayed three nights but felt that we'd had a real holiday. We really look forward to our next stay when we come again to visit family.

We booked all 4 rooms for two nights. Our family were delighted with the accommodation. We had the room which was set apart from the other three. It had its own lounge on the ground floor with the bedroom above. (both with fine views over the estuary) The private bathroom for the balcony room was amazingly spacious.

We stayed for 2 nights in this B&B in July and had a lovely stay. The room was bright with a lovely balcony and beautiful views. We had a separate bathroom which was spacious with a good shower. The breakfast was great with lots of choice and set us up for the day. I would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone who is staying in West Kirby

This was suggested to us for its central location to the beaches, walks & restaurants, and our friends in Heswall. It didn't disappoint......but we got soo much more. Quiet, peaceful, amazing views, wonderful warm & funny hosts where nothing was too much trouble, absolute comfort and old world charm. Everything was fantastic & breakfasts were amazing.....

Caldy is as pretty a place to stay as any when visiting in the area (in our case, West Kirby, for a wedding), which is why I looked for somewhere there... and no. 42 is a superb B&B in a great situation. A warm welcome, lovely comfy rooms... 2 out of 3 have that westerly view over Dee estuary towards N Wales, one of those with a balcony that I don't recall being mentioned on the site, (and the view inland from the other room is fine anyway - I had a look - my friend was in that one). Enjoy your continental or cooked breakfast customised however you want it (black pudding is on the list), while gazing out at the view, then take your coffee out onto the sun terrace to plan your day. Room for Improvement? only that girlfriend had a bath and couldn't reach the liquid soap dispenser as it's positioned best for people standing up to have a shower!

We stayed here on our last week in England. Beautiful views of the Dee, and a lovely bedroom and ground floor lounge area both having gorgeous views. Ken and Sue are the most warming of people, that it made it difficult for me to leave not only my own parents down south, but the warmth of our accommodation at Caldy Road, to head back to Australia, so that's saying something! Breakfasts were comforting. She was very attentive, and friendly and personable. Food was lovely. Ken was again very welcoming and a bit of a comedian. Very lovable personality. Thank you to you both. For everything. Caroline and Paul, Perth, Australia. X
