What a dream wedding venue coltsfoot is! From the moment my now husband and I stepped onto the grounds and into the barn we knew it was the one. The whole place had the most wonderful homely feel and it was so personal and intimate - just what we wanted for our wedding day. Not only is the venue incredible but every member of the team are just as incredible. We could not have asked for more accommodating, friendly, helpful and simply lovely people to have helped plan our wedding. You all truly made it so special! No ask was too much and nothing was a bother and the day was just perfect! As the bride, being able to get ready on site and have the use of the hut and the beautiful room made the morning extra special. The don, which we stayed in the night of the wedding was the perfect location as our first night as husband and wife. It allowed us time away from everyone to reflect on our perfect day! Speaking of rooms, the guest rooms were amazing and all our friends and family that stayed commented on how lovely they were and how delicious the breakfast was the next morning! Once again, having our wedding day at Coltsfoot was an absolute dream and one which we could relive over again. Thank you, thank you and thank you to everyone for making our day perfect!

Fantastic from start too finish. Staff warm friendly and accommodating, greeted in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Fantastic setting for a wedding ,from start to finish perfect. Staff were on the ball and happy to assist or answer any questions. Rooms were warm clean and well laid out, underfloor heating made it that little bit more comfortable. Food was fantastic warm and well presented. If you want a perfect setting inside and out for a wedding it's well worth a look.

We had our wedding at Coltsfoot in November 2022 and had an absolutely brilliant day! When looking for venues Coltsfoot stood out to us as having everything we needed. Even though we had drizzly rain for most of the day, there was plenty of inside space for our 110 guests and the venue looked great with plenty of spots for our photos. Having the bar, marquee and mezzanine separate from the main barn room worked well when we needed to be indoors.
The food and drink were fantastic – all our guests were full of compliments for the main meal (especially the lamb which was cooked to perfection) as well as the canapes and the evening food. All of the service staff were great throughout the day, with particular thanks to Emma and Charlotte who did a brilliant job of ensuring that everything ran smoothly so that we could have a genuinely relaxed and enjoyable day.
The guest rooms on site were also really comfortable and the full English breakfast in the morning hit the spot!
It was such a pleasure working with the team during all the planning stages and communication was quick and easy throughout. We thoroughly recommend Coltsfoot; it was the perfect venue for us.

My partner and got married here in August. What a perfect day we had!
Jess, Ruth and the rest of the Coltsfoot team were so welcoming from start to finish. Guests were so complimentary on the food, options for those with dietary requirements, superb service from all the employees and everyone loved this stunning venue. Each guest room has its own individual style and has its own special feel to it. The alpacas and other animals were an added bonus for everyone to enjoy where some of our younger guests had the opportunity to feed the animals breakfast the next morning.
Planning our day in the months leading up to our wedding with the support of Jess and Ruth was smooth, fun and exciting. Their flexibility on several aspects for our day was really appreciated and communication with them was fantastic.
We definitely recommend this venue to anyone that is looking for somewhere special to celebrate their day, with a great team of people who go above and beyond.

My partner and I got married at Coltsfoot in July. The whole planning process was made stress free with Jess who assisted us every step of the way. Emma showed us around and assisted with any queries we had regarding the big day. Emma helped us set up the venue the day before and ensured everything was just as we wanted it. On the day Jess was there to ensure everything ran smoothly. All of the staff who were there on our big day were incredible and helpful and made our guests feel welcome to the venue. The food at Coltsfoot was incredible. We had many compliments from our guests in regards to the grounds, location, privacy and intimacy of the venue. My son married here in August and I am raving to everyone about Coltsfoot. From planning to execution the service was faultless, the accommodation is beautiful and nothing was too much trouble.
Off the beaten track but only minutes from Hertford, Knebworth and Stevenage it's set in idyllic gardens with nearby fields and countryside featuring Alpacas, Sheep, Goats and Chickens. These days it's exclusively used for weddings (having been a hotel/restaurant). This allows the staff and management to cater for every need the most professional way and demonstrates it's popularity as a wedding venue.
It was always going to be a special day but Coltsfoot made it unforgettable.

Coltsfoot Barn is simply stunning as a wedding venue. Beautiful gardens combined with a charming barn make a sensational setting for a wedding. This aside, the staff are incredibly helpful and do their level best to curb any anxiety. They seem to have the whole thing down to a fine art. They have thought of everything down to the grand piano, which is a beautiful looking antique but actually very cleverly houses a state-of-the-art electronic keyboard, which sounds better than most old pianos. The food was also quite delicious and artistically served up. And one further point that is well worth making is the simple fact that you have exclusive use of the site. Unlike so many other venues that will host more than one wedding on the same day (including so many fairly fancy hotels), you won't be sharing this venue with anyone other than your own guests. All in all, Coltsfoot Barn ticked all the boxes and pulled out all the stops. 11 out of 10.

We would highly recommend choosing Coltsfoot Country Retreat as your wedding venue. The setting is stunning,the owners Richard and Jenny are so friendly and accommodating nothing was too much trouble. Charlotte and Emma were on hand on the day to make sure everything went smoothly which made the day perfect. The food was superb, our compliments to the chef. The rooms were wonderful,spotlessly clean each having their own character and views over the Hertfordshire countryside. My husband and I got married at Coltsfoot on 1 October 2022, and I cannot express how wonderful this venue is.
From the moment we booked the venue, we were so well looked after and guided through everything so effortlessly in our planning meetings leading up to the day. No ask was ever too much for Coltsfoot.
On the day itself, Charlotte was absolutely brilliant! She made sure everything happened when it needed to happen, the day went so smoothly and I genuinely think that is owing to her brilliant attention to detail.
The food is incredible - we opted for a vegetarian only menu which was no trouble for the venue, and we have received so many compliments on how brilliant the food was from our guests. And the accommodation is brilliant - we stayed in "The Don" and it was wonderful, I wish we could have stayed in there for longer! And finally, breakfast the next day was brilliant, having the buffet in the little breakfast room where we could sit with our close family and friends and reminisce on the day before was a really special way to end the celebrations (plus, a special visit from a lovely black lab which made everyone's morning I think!)
I want to say thank you to Coltsfoot, for making this day so memorable for us, it really was such a special celebration and it really was made so by the care and attention that Coltsfoot gave us.

After our planned wedding in Mexico fell through due to Covid, we began looking at UK venues and fell in love with Coltsfoot instantly. Everyone we met during their wedding event and subsequent meetings was so lovely, relaxed and helpful that it made planning our big day super easy and as stress free as it possibly can be. The actual day was AMAZING. I honestly couldn’t have asked for more. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone raved about the food and the venue itself. It’s honestly stunning and so relaxed, you really do feel so at home. I only wish I could do it all again!
