Detailed Reviews
Village Hotel met our needs perfectly. After a graduation delayed by a year suddenly happening, all the hotels in the immediate vicinity to the ceremony were fully booked. However, we were lucky to find this place, just 9 minutes drive from the graduation venue - and with much more to offer locally. We arrived Friday night, checked in, our 3 girls had a wonderfully large family room, and my Husband & I weren't on the same floor BUT I had previously said that if it was a choice of best suited rooms vs being next door - we'd prefer the best rooms, not location! We then went for great cocktails in the pub next door & dinner in a restaurant further down. We were spoilt for choice. The owner Lucky is always reachable by phone if you have any questions, the hotel is very clean & following covid protocols, nice touches like ironing boards & irons left in communal areas if required, and has only been able to reopen recently since lockdown.
My fault that I didn't spot that there wasn't any car parking. However, the large public carpark has a 24 hour parking facility for under £10, spaces are large, and there is a walkway directly across to the hotel. There was a bit of noise from the live music pub opposite, however, we were back in our rooms relatively early Friday evening and if we hadn't had such an early start the following morning - we'd have been in there!
Certainly a business that deserves lots of support.

Excellent rooms and although there is no bar or restaurant at the hotel, The hotel is literally right in the centre of Bexley village and therefore you are spoilt for choice with excellent pubs and Restaurants. Everything from Cafes, Coffee house, pizza, fish and chips , Chinese, Indian or Italian there is an excellent quality choice across the board for everyone. The rooms are priced much better than the likes of Marriotts or Holiday inn with effectively a far superior range of food and drink on the doorstep. The Hotel have also arranged discount deals with a lot of the local establishments and therefore you get quality food and drink at a knockdown price. Parking is also no problem as there are 2 large car parks within a 100yards of the hotel and even with the parking charges of a few quid you are still getting a far better financial deal than the likes of Marriott or Holiday Inn.

This is very much a budget place to stay but it is comfortable and quiet. I stayed in a single room which had a very good heater, a small desk and a small en suite with shower.
The room was dusty on arrival but this was addressed next day.
The cleaner was sick while I was there which meant that bed making and tea changes were not done one day but the proprietor texted me to make me aware. He is very helpful and very communicative on the phone.
There is no place to eat or drink here - it is simply rooms. The area is nice and there are no cheap and cheerful chain places to eat which is pleasant and rare (but comes at cost if you’re having to eat out).
The place is advertised as no parking but parking is available for free on request. I wish I’d known as I paid locally for parking at some expense and this was needless in the end.
An accommodating and good choice. It misses a star due to the cleaning issues but this is by no means a dirty or nasty place. It is a good choice on a budget but there is a trade off.

This hotel is a scam. No credibility or integrity whatsoever. Avoid this place like a plague. The adverts and “good” reviews you see are all bogus. It is deception in the bid to swindle unsuspecting travelers of their monies. Advert says something different, but hotel is otherwise. Advert says hotel unit is all ground floor, but it’s actually not true. Long staircase with no elevator access. When I got there and discovered it was all a scam, so I left almost immediately and booked Marriott Hotel. I requested for refund, but they weren’t willing to refund. At first, the owner said he was going to refund 2 nights out of the whole 7 nights I had booked, later declined and wasn’t going to refund any. Booking.com seem to be covering up for this scam and unable to request refund. Avoid this place. Don’t be fooled with the pictures and all the good reviews you’re reading, they are all doctored. It’s a one man business that lack credibility. I actually sprained my waist while I was trying to move my luggage on the narrow stairways. I am definitely suing this business as they are imploring deception in getting unsuspecting travelers to book rooms only to not want to refund after they have been discovered. I am a supporter of small businesses, however the owner of Bexley village hotel has shown nothing but lack of credibility and integrity which should score highest on a business who wants to remain competitive.

I arrived at this hotel in the dark and it was not easy to find as the photo misleading - it is on a narrow busy high street sorrounded by pubs/drunks/rowdy behavior.
I had received a text with a 4 digit code, advising my key was in the key safe adjacent to the front door. The lighting was poor and it was difficult to see in the dark but I eventually put the code in and retrieved my key. I did get another text asking if I had gained access!
The twin room was cold and dingy, the sliding doors on the wardrobe were broken, the dirty rug had not even been hoovered, there was no hot water at the wash basin ( only in the shower), the toilet bowl had not been cleaned from the previous occupant ( horrible !) and the toilet roll holder was empty.
I checked out at 10am the following morning, still no one around to complain to just a key drop box. I did not see a single member of staff while I was there.
Definitely give this hotel a swerve!

Inept and insensitive manager who didn’t care myself, partner and son had barely slept due to a window not shutting on a high street full of bars pumping music and cars revving engines all night long.
After reporting to the manager that the outer window didn’t fully close (a feature of the original windows in the listed building) and the inner double glazed windows used to reduce noise wouldn’t lock, we were told nothing could be done but a refund would be discussed in the morning.
I wedged cushions between the two windows to minimise the noise but the noise still boomed through while well after 2am.
Tired and frustrated after very little sleep… the next morning, we were informed of a £15 discount and when we didn’t sound “happy enough” according to Lucky the manager, he retracted the £15 discount and encouraged us to leave a negative review instead.
How Lucky got a job in hospitality will remain a mystery to anyone who has the misfortune of staying in a hotel he manages.
Avoid this hotel if you think a “Family room” should have the ability for the Family to be able to sleep.

Dear William, Thank you for taking time to leave a review, we are saddened that your stay with us didn't go as planned. We have taken your comments on board. The Issue with the external window as been resolved. The inner window even though it could not lock, it did close fully and stopped as much noise as possible from the high street. An offer to compensate you on a future booking with us was emailed to you, this offer is still there for you to use. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

I regret to say that our recent reservation at the Village Hotel Bexley was extremely disappointing. The experience was marred by a significant issue that left us stranded in the middle of the night.
After an enjoyable evening out, we returned to the hotel at 12.20 am only to find that we could not get the external door open via the key card we were given, as we found out later the door had been locked from the inside. Despite repeated attempts, the door would not budge. We immediately contacted the hotel and were put in touch with the owner, 'Lucky'. He assured us that he would be there in 10 minutes to resolve the issue.
However, 10 minutes turned into 20, then 30, and then 40. Despite our repeated calls and increasing frustration standing out in the cold, Lucky continued to tell us he would be there in "another 10 minutes". It became apparent that he had no intention of coming to help us.
My wife’s medication was in the room, and she needed to take them that evening, he was not interested, kept saying he would be there in 10 minutes. An hour later and it was clear he had no intention in coming out to assist.
As a result, we were forced to find alternative accommodation at 1.15am in the morning. This not only disrupted our night but also left us feeling deeply disappointed, distressed and let down by the hotel's management.
The next morning, we returned to the hotel and explained our predicament to the receptionist, making it clear that we expected a full refund. She contacted the owner ‘Lucky’, as she did not have the authority but he refused to speak with us, leaving us feeling completely disregarded and disrespected.
The lack of responsiveness and accountability from the hotel's management was shocking and unacceptable. This experience left a sour taste, and we would strongly advise against staying at the Village Hotel Bexley. The way this situation was handled shows a complete lack of concern for guests and their well-being, and we urge the management to take customer service more seriously in the future.
We did get a refund, less the booking fee, but no apology for the inconvenience or any concern for our wellbeing, didn’t care where we did stay, or about my wife’s health.
Also as a footnote, I am sure there should be a member of staff on duty or in the establishment at night to ensure customers safety re fire risk, for example under the ‘Occupiers Liability Act 1957 & 1984’

What a great little hotel. On arrival 3 hours before check in our room wasn’t ready but they were more than happy to give us the key so we could go off into London for the day. We weren’t expecting that at all so a nice little bonus.
Lots of discounts in local cafes for food arranged by the hotel
Room was clean, spacious, with a fan to help with the heat. Bathroom was big with a great little shower.
Loved it. So if you are staying in Bexley we would 100% recommend staying here

What a lovely find this hotel was. We booked last minute as we were visiting our son for the weekend.
I was contacted by the owner the afternoon of our arrival to confirm all the check in arrangements as we were arriving late, he also gave us restaurant recommendations.
The hotel is spotlessly clean. Our room was beautiful and had lovely fresh bed linen and towels as well as plentiful tea and coffee making facilities.
The hotel is right in the centre of Bexley with lots of places to eat and drink on the doorstep.
A really lovely family run hotel with such a personal touch, will definitely return.
