We went here for a long week-end on their special package to celebrate my wife's birthday and it was excellent. Booking is easy and they make contact the day before to check that you are fit to travel. They also send out all the Covid procedures in advance. On arrival you are temperature checked.
You are so grateful you pass that because the whole hotel is spacious and relaxed. Check in was prompt and easy and then, as suggested, we drove round to the rear entrance, used for weddings etc., to off load our bags.
The room was again spacious and the bed massive. The bathroom had twin sinks, a bath and a shower cubicle.
Everything was spotless and lashing of powerful hot water.
We chose to have breakfast in our room, not in bed but at the table and chairs in front of the window. For a fiver a day it was a far more relaxed start and avoided and waiting in the restaurant.
The evening dinner was superb in each of the three nights. The restaurant is well spaced out and as most visitors were couples the atmosphere was very relaxed but the service efficient. Your taste buds will be woken with all the flavours that come with each meal.
Check out was from your room. The bill arrives under your door overnight and you just leave your key cards in the room and tell reception you are going.
This was managed by a chain until three years ago but is now a truly independent hotel.
I left looking forward to my birthday so we can go back

Having visited Guisborough Hall many times in the past and returning again this December I have one word to describe this hotel "Outstanding."

The Hotel is a beautiful old Manor House full of character and charm.

From the minute we arrived the attention to detail was excellent, Covid signs everywhere letting us know exactly what we had to do on entering the hotel. As we walked through the main doors we were greeted by a lovely member of the reception team who asked to take our temperature, immediately we felt in safe hands, temperature check, hand gels, every single member of staff wore face masks and all the guests are asked to wear a mask whilst walking around the communal areas of the hotel. We always book a suite which is amazing, this had been deep cleaned and a sealed sticker showing the room had been deep cleaned was attached to the door jam .

Our rooms, the restaurant, lounge and communal areas were all spotless it was obvious the management and staff of the hotel cared for the safety of the guests and themselves.

Water, soft drinks, nibbles, towels and fluffy robes all in room as well as molten brown toiletries with comfy beds to chill out on.

The complete experience of staying here is as always so wonderful and relaxing it is worth every penny and thats why we return time and time again we can and do highly recommend this hotel.

A wonderful hotel, welcoming, helpful staff, great food and good accommodation.
We arrived early Friday afternoon and were welcomed by friendly reception staff who took us to our rooms and sorted out an ice bucket for our complimentary bottle of wine. That evening we enjoyed a tasty, well presented 3 course meal from a nicely varied menu.
Saturday we relaxed in the lounge enjoying a couple of drinks after our trip to Whitby and played a coulle of games from their selection (although they could do will checking the contents as most had something (or more) missing unfortunately) before heading into Guisborough for a few drinks.
Both mornings we enjoyed their wonderful full English breakfast which came with the full suite of ingredients (very tasty) as well as every other option for those who like an alternative start.
The lack of complete games and the small but noticable split in the carpet outside the bedroom door are the only negative points of a fabulous weekend away.

Having had our honeymoon to Bali cancelled back in April and the uncertainty of travel we decided to have a staycation at Gisborough Hall for 3 nights - it did not disappoint.
Upon arrival we were greeted by very friendly staff and noticed they had all of the social distance measures in place and hand sanitising stations throughout.
Having been one of the hottest weekends on record we were concerned about the temperature but the rooms were lovely and cool - lovely, spacious and clean rooms too.
Every member of staff was so kind and helpful, all wearing face masks which must have been very uncomfortable in the heat.
Breakfast each morning was lovely, plenty of options to choose from and all table service.
We ate at the restaurants within the hotel each night, with plenty of delicious options both for myself and my vegetarian husband. Alternative food options were also provided and the bar staff were a great help.
We have already recommended Gisborough to friends and we will definitely be returning.

I have just returned from a three night break from this fantastic place. We have stayed here a few times before and so were unconcerned about food but were a little unsure as to how safe we would feel with current Covid social distancing measures. We had no need to worry, we felt so relaxed and safe throughout our stay. Hand sanitiser was available throughout, staff used PPE but made sure we felt very relaxed, they couldn't do enough for us. Food was amazing and we were blown away by the thought they had put in to how to serve breakfast and dinner. This is an absolutely beautiful hotel with amazing scenery to explore in the local area. The only reason I wouldn't recommend this place is so that there's always room for me to stay; I can guarantee that once you visit you will return again and again. So, if you enjoy fantastic food, superb service, romantic rooms and stunning scenery....this is the place for you.

Visited with my husband on Saturday gone to celebrate his birthday.

It was the first visit for the two of us and we took advantage of their bed breakfast and evening meal package and a massage in the revival zone.

We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved the hotel. We wish we had of been staying for a second night.

We sampled their afternoon tea on arrival; both the traditional and savoury and it was fantastic. Served in the inner hall which was simply stunning.

We were situated in their woodland wing and found our room spacious, clean, well decorated and very pleasing. The toiletries were molton brown which was lovely.

All the staff were so friendly, welcoming and polite. A special mention goes to Ryan who looked after us on Saturday evening and really went above and beyond and made our stay all the better. He showed us to the safe which is where they keep their most prestige whiskeys, rums and gins and the dining staff even acknowledged the fact it was my husband's birthday during our visit with a small token which was most appreciated.

Our massage was incredible. So relaxing and enjoyable and our masseuse very professional and attentive.

We ate in de brus bar and grill on the evening as opposed to the main restaurant chalonders. Both had a very varied menu however we found the bar and grill a little more relaxing and less formal which was more suited to us. They both are very well appointed with a lovely atmosphere.

Breakfast also was great with both continental and cooked served to your liking and served to the table. You have to book a breakfast slot in advance. The staff were attentive and the service was very good and quick. The cooked menu options were really good including eggs Benedict and waffles.

Check out is at 11 and you settle your bill by calling reception and confirming the card information which was taken to secure the booking and leave your key cards in the room.

There was a slight mistake in that the £10 credit which was promised upon booking directly to be taken off your overall bill hadn't been. I brought this to the attention of the receptionist who quickly resolved the issue however it is a shame the bill wasnt correct in the first place.

All the food was

We had a great stay. Upon settling our bill on

My wife and I have just spent two wonderful nights at Gisborough Hall Hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and everyone had a cheery greeting for you. The room was extremely comfortable and well furnished and the bathroom had a bath and separate shower plus dual sinks. The hotel provided a number of lounges, dining room and bar/grill. Breakfast offered a variety of choices delivered to your table and dinner had a good selection of meals on offer and a fine wine list. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be looking to return again next year.

We stayed there for a long weekend at the end of a holiday in Yorkshire. Having longed for a a little luxury and pampering through the months forced to stay at home, we weren’t disappointed. We had a feature room in the main building- it was tall, spacious beautifully decorated and furnished and lovely view to the moors. The bathroom was equally good. The dinner menus was imaginative and had fish, meat and vegetarian options for all courses. Portions were very generous and quality of food and presentation was excellent. Breakfast equally so though the lack of fresh fruit options was a slight drawback. All the staff are well trained and there are very efficient COVID procedures in place. However, they were slick and all felt very normal (everyone, without exception wore a face covering other than when seated). As the public rooms are large and the hotel is operating at less than 50% capacity, social distancing was not an issue.
This was an excellent stay- I would go again tomorrow!

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary along with our children and grandchildren. My husband and I discovered Gisborough Hall a number of years ago and we have stayed there on our anniversary for the last 6 years (other than covid restrictions).

I dealt with Julie H to book the stay who discussed options regarding private dining on our Anniversary day and other surprises I wanted. Julie was an absolute star throughout and suggested various things I might like to do or tweak during our stay to make things even more special. I wanted balloons to be put into our daughter and son-in-laws room and she suggested local shops who could assist with that ( The Bookshop in Gisborough did a fabulous personalised set for me and delivered them free of charge… super service!!). I also spoke with Karen in events who reassured me that my private dining meal was all organised and not to worry.

Our 3 rooms were in the Old Hall ( I always try to stay in the Old Hall as the rooms are all very different and wonderfully spacious!! The cost is higher but in my view well worth it). We had 122, 126 and 127 and our daughters’ room had an extra seating area which was set up as a bedroom for our 3 year old granddaughter… she adored having her own ‘big’ bed!! The rooms looked beautiful on arrival and spotlessly clean as did the Hotel. We cannot thank Linda from Housekeeping enough as she very quickly rectified a little accident our baby granddaughter had, there was no fuss or complaint, Linda took charge and sorted everything!!

As always the staff we encountered were amazing. Amanda the restaurant Manager was superb (as she is every time we see her), and the team set up our private dining room for Sunday lunch on our anniversary day, decorated with balloons and banners, cake table etc ( my daughter had given the staff these items and as always.. they just sorted everything!!). The food throughout our stay was awesome… fresh produce, well cooked and beautifully presented. Sarah looked after us at lunch and Zoe, Gemma, Maria the restaurant and bar staff were brilliant!!

Reception were great and a lovely warm welcome and departure was extended to all of us, nothing was too much trouble, the housekeeping team do such an excellent job of looking after guests it’s no wonder people return year after year. The hotel grounds are well maintained, there are some fabulous walks into gisborough itself and it is only 15 miles into Whitby… another bonus!

We had another wonderful stay at this quality hotel and will be back again very soon I’m sure. Thank you to everyone involved in making our Ruby Anniversary a really special occasion!!

Beautiful hotel set in open countryside . Excellent base to visit North Yorkshire, lots of options available to suit every taste.
Reception staff very good and professional, checked in on time with minimum of fuss. Our room was in the “Woodlands Wing” and proved to be very spacious and clean . The room was cleaned everyday, towels were changed and tea, coffee and bottled water were resupplied .
Service was very good , all members of stay wore masks and endeavoured to make the stay as pleasant as possible.
Enjoy a drink on the well spaced out terrace if you can , good views during the day and beautifully lit up at night.
Food excellent, good choice at breakfast cooked to the individuals’ taste. Dinner in the restaurant was equally good but the menu somewhat restricted.( no change throughout our stay) A “specials “ board would add some welcomed variety.
The only thing missing at Gisborough Hall is a swimming pool, if one was present our stay would have been five star!
However, the three day staycation package offers excellent value for money and is totally recommend Ed.

Yes - there are lifts although the different lifts give you access to different parts of the building. I would check on booking because the staff are absolutely fantastic and I’m sure if you requested a room accessible to a lift they would try and accommodate you. I can’t stress how absolutely lovely everything is but please don’t be afraid to ask. Enjoy your stay
