Travellers' Choice
Situated in the unique seaside village of Thorpeness, the Dolphin Inn, a free house, has placed itself in the heart of the community. A short stroll takes you to miles of unspoilt Suffolk heritage coastline and we are a short distance from Minsmeare, a birding paradise hosting some of our rarest wildlife. The Dolphin has three well appointed four star bedrooms, a fantastic restaurant with an enthusiastic chef, a bar that dispensers a large variety of whiskeys, ales, has a superb wine list and boasts a large beer garden.

We were meeting friends in Thorpeness and wanted somewhere for a quick drink. We had planned to go to The Kitchen (opposite the entrance to The Meare) but it was really busy so we decided to go a little further up the road to The Dolphin. This had plenty of tables available outside and lots of space (good for social distancing). Friendly service and a tasty pint. Will visit again :)

Visited this week whilst on holiday. Despite COVID restrictions the staff accommodated us really well. Food was very good too! It is very busy so booking is recommended. We had our dog and there is an eating room that welcomes dogs as well as the larger dinning room.

Half term break away with fussy teenagers and this was the perfect choice! The menu was out of their comfort zone but they chose well, burgers and duck were delicious. Very COVID aware, especially when things are done slightly differently nowadays. Staff great, food delicious and couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant lunch. Thank you to all involved.... definitely one to visit!
