This place gives you the impression that they want repeat business & they look after the customer. The rooms have been refurbished & are generally comfortable, although the shower had poor pressure & only 2 settings - hot or scalding. Breakfast was freshly cooked, rather than the dismal chain hotel buffet & food at dinner was decent. Drinks are reasonably...

Just spent a couple of days at the hotel and found it to be a real mixed bag. The room was large but the two single beds were small. The ground floor room looked straight onto the car park, which was not a problem but the lack of net curtains or blinds to give privacy was an issue. Breakfast was...

recently returned from annual golf trip with a group of 12. Rooms are well appointed and the ones at the back have peaceful view over carpark. Breakfast is good but if you like kippers then avoid the "Orford" kipper as they are over-salted fillets. Evening meal good menu with prompt service.

Good 3 day golf break on an attractive course, but hotel rooms and lounge areas need improvement. For example upholstery in lounge ripped and worn. Will not stay in hotel until they refurbish. Hotel dominated by large golf groups.

We were visiting the Suffolk coast for the weekend and booked a one night stay. Decor in the bedroom was a little bit dated but the room was huge with access to a balcony and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom has clearly been upgraded recently as it was very modern. We asked the receptionist if we could check...

a group of 12 golfers for 2 nights found this hotel to be perfect for requirements. It does not pretend to be 5 star and the rates we got were very reasonable. the food was good, staff welcoming and the rooms clean and quiet. food could have been better, although the steaks were excellent. the golf course is tricky without...

My wife and I stayed last night for our anniversary. Overall we were pleased with the hotel. It is situated in a beautiful location, central for visiting the lovely Suffolk seaside towns and villages. Our room was very nice, although the bathroom could do with an update. Having said that, the towels were thick and fluffy, and a nice touch...

This so-called 3* AA hotel is heading downhill if not there already. The receptionists need retraining in basic customer care. The decor needs a complete overhaul. The restaurant needs updating and the chefs need retraining in basic cookery. It is outrageous to continue to charge hotel prices for hostel accommodation. Read the reviews carefully and you will see clearly a...

Good afternoon and thank you for your feedback. We are currently in the process of redecorating and refurbishing many of the bedrooms as well as the public areas over the next few months including the restaurant. With regards to your comments about the food I do apologise if you had a bad experience and I hope you mentioned it to...

My golf society has been coming here for years and this is the first time I've managed to join them. The golf is top notch- inland heathland more than coastal links- it's good enough to have held professional events in the past. The hotel is up to the job of providing comfortable accommodation and hearty meals to the swathes of...

Just got back from a couple of days at Thorpeness. Nice golf course, nice hotel, lovely food and great staff. The course was in good condition considering the time of year, wind was blowing which made it tricky, and the rain didn't help on Monday, but great couple of days. Food and Bar area are very well staffed, Food was...
