Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice looking property but attention to detail in maintenance, food and service is missing. Good and convenient location. Nice public areas. Friendly staff. Room needed maintenance, damp stains on wall, bathroom door handle broken, mattress and pillows well used and not overly comfortable - need replacing, gas fire in room but no controls to light it, room very cold at night, coffee machine but no pods, no hot water on last day of stay. Tried the included breakfast on one day of the stay, quality and service was mediocre, didn't return.

A great wedding venue. Enough space for people to mingle, relax and have fun. The bedrooms were spotless and fitted to a high quality. The Orangery looked beautiful when set for the breakfast. The service throughout the whole wedding event was faultless.

We had our wedding here last week, it was everything we had wished for and more! The new orangery is gorgeous and the food was lovely with no issues at all. The staff was amazing all day and couldn't of been more helpful, i would highly recommend as the whole venue is a stunning place.

Only stayed one night for a weddinf Really nice venue, small but nice rooms. One recommendation i'd make is if you fancy a beer or a glass of wine is to visit Resident bar at 23 Queen Street, Morley bottoms. It's only 15 minutes walk down the road or £4 in a taxi. Small, cool, quirky bar, I was made to feel really welcome.

Beautiful setting, gorgeous gardens. Had a lovely time at a friends wedding. I took cash with me so that I could watch how much I spent but when I went to the bar was told it was card only. I asked if I could pay cash for the room and got refused as well. I don’t know why they only take but it was really inconvenient - not only that but they had told the bride and groom about this prior to the wedding and expected them to be able to tell all their guests as if they didn’t have enough to do! Cash is still legal tender and they need to sort this out! The room wasn’t worth £100 either. It was shabby and tired with damp marks on the ceiling.

We have never had the displeasure of dealing with a hotel that gives the appalling level of customer service as The Woodlands gave us. We booked our wedding originally for 21/4/20 and this had to be rescheduled due to the pandemic (not the hotels fault, I know) We rebooked for the 22/4/21 only to be told in Jan 21 that the marquee we booked was being torn down and would be replaced by an orangery. We had no prior notice of this and we originally booked the hotel due to it being neutral in colour. The orangery would be pink and gold (exactly what we didn’t want) and as this is not what we’d booked and paid for, we decided to cancel (this is after they had already made the bar navy blue and gold and replaced the bridal suite). We were told we could cancel but would need to pay

We have been here twice now for weddings - on this occasion we got a room too. The venue as a whole is good - it is in a good location and the building its-self is great. The food at the wedding was beautiful - I'm assuming this was made by the venue too. The room its-self just let the whole experience down, it was £100 for one night but the room was tiny. I thought for the price we would have a little bit more room. To top it off it was a very hot day and the air con wasn't working. There was also some mould/dampness on the wall (see pics). We notified staff, who were very friendly and brought us two fans to use. These little things being rectified would definitely have improved my score for the hotel.

We stayed at Woodlands last week for a birthday celebration . From checking in to leaving , it was a really lovely experience . We were given the Dutches suite was was beautiful , spacious , spotlessly clean and had a free standing roll top bath. The lovely Manager, Callum , brought us a complimentary bottle of Prosecco on ice and some beers ( a kind thoughtful touch ) We eat in the restaurant and we were not disappointed. The food was fresh, tasty and well presented , the lamb pie was to die for ! They breakfast next morning was also top notch ..........I cannot recommend this hotel enough , well done all the staff at Wooldlands , you went above and beyond . We we certainly be back for more .
