My wife, our daughter and I wanted a complete break when we spotted The Old Cottage on Fairymount Farm . It looked idyllic and when we arrived everything was set out beautifully. The proprietor, John, was there to meet us and he graciously showed us the ropes, then left discreetly like he respected that this was now our space. There...

We enjoyed our stay at The Cottage at Fairymount Farm. We are traveling with a 2-year-old and a 5-year-old. The first morning we were up and out hiking on one of the well-marked paths. The area s lovely. We went to Birr Equestrian Center where the children rode horses. We visited the beautiful Birr Castle grounds. We ate at wonderful...

Linda and John were very helpful but completely respect your privscy. Trails on the property were very good. We spent almost a month here at the farm, and it was a fantastic base for our trip to Ireland. It's within two to three hours of nearly everything you'd wanna see in Ireland. Not to mention the local area was a great place to be. The Old Cottage was great because it provided us with everything we needed, and...

Myself and a group of my friends went down to Bikepark Ireland for the day and was an absolutely fantastic day!!! We arrived at half nine in the morning and got a very warm welcome from Graham and the rest off the staff, they were all very helpful in getting us signed in and hiring our bikes. John, the driver...

I part of an organised walking group. We climbed Knockshegowna located behind the farm. Spectacular views. Owner was courteous. Welcomed us and gave clear directions for the hike. Didn't stay in the accommodation, although we passed by , it was unoccupied.

If you are looking for a quiet place to get away in central Ireland, then look no further than Fairymount Farm. There are 2 rental cottages - we stayed in the bigger of the two, Oakwood. The house itself is well kept and updated. The owners attended to any issues we had instantly. Such Irish hospitality! It is a ways...

We have stayed in oakwood cottage 3 times now and something about the place has hooked us for more each year! As a largish family with four kids we need to unwind with lots of space around us, Oakwood is that place. We are instantly relaxed from the considereable home stresses when we open the gates to Oakwood. The views...

We have stayed with John and Linda on each of our visits to Ireland and have rented each of the three self-catering accommodations on the farm at one time or another. Each one has its own charm and benefits. They each sleep 6 and have two separate bathrooms, with the master bedrooms being en-suite. They also each have washer and...

I booked The Old Cottage for a weekend. Hadn't the best start as I got a puncture on the drive down but managed to get to Fairymount Farm and then on to the cottage. I had just unpacked the car when John from Fairymount farm arrived and changed my punctured tyre and directed me to people who would fix the...
