The first thing to strike you is the noise in the small double bedroom from the street as there’s no double glazing and it overlooks a cafeteria which opens at about 5am.. The bedroom would have been less cramped with a single bed. The bathroom was tiny with a shower over a half bath. The shower head pointed at the toilet. The place needs renovating as it’s a bit tatty. No protective cover on pillows. Room was cold but at least there’s a floor heater. TV was only visible if lying on the bed. Hygiene needs improving as light switches were dirty. Food was a bargain and very good which was a nice surprise. Staff were excellent. Despite it all, I’d stay again as there’s not a lot of choice in Guillena.

Arrived completely exhausted. Approached the bar, where they had clearly received my phone call and understood my reservation. They took my card and I paid €21. Was shown to a smallish room, with air-conditioning, TV, nice clean bathroom and towels. It was absolutely adequate for my very tired needs. I ate in the restaurant, they did a pilgrim menu which I chose, and the three courses were each enormous! And very good.

While the inn has a friendly and helpful staff, the noise level coming from the bar is totally unacceptable. Between the bar and the rest of the hotel noises, it didn’t quiet down until 2AM. Also the beds are the shortest they could find and only marginally comfortable. Food at the bar was acceptable but not worth a trip back.

After a first leg coming out of Seville in high temperatures, we selected accomodation with location with easy location, aircon, wifi and value in mind, Francisco provided so much more. Within ten minutes we felt at home, and language no barrier, we had assustance with portage and accomodation. No need to move for dinner and for breakfast, we slept well, aircon was great and early rising posed no challenges.

An average stop on our Camino. Nothing wrong with this place. Host somewhat indifferent. Location central. Rooms clean but a bit noisy. Beds were okay. Overall adequate accommodation. Near to Taperia deal agua which is delicious.

It is a traditional guest house with quite big rooms. The airconditioning did not work very well and since the temperature was over 30 centigrades, it was just too warm really. Staff very helpful but spoke little English. The place served food and offered menues, economic and good.

A welcoming little hotel in small town of Guillena. Clean and comfortable. Very Reasonable prices. The hotel was very quiet when we stayed. Just a few locals and fellow peregrinos. There is not a lot of excitement in this town but if you are looking for a quiet and comfortable place to stay for a few nights, this place is worth considering.

I received the last available room although prebooked, which was very annoying as no alternatives available. And that room would not have been allowed in a hotel where I come from. One window looked into a skylight that opened into the bar below - looking down, you looked onto eating people's table! So every sound, every smell came up and also in as the window didn't close properly. The window in the bathroom, the only alternative for air, opened into the hallway.... Location and breakfast good though, but check you dont get the room I was in!

Unfortunately we stayed on a day the hotel closed early, for the start of the town's four-day fiesta. This meant that we had to eat lunch on arrival, when we really did not feel too hungry. The meal was probably the worst I have had in four decades of travelling in Spain! I can only assume that the fiesta preparations had got in the way of serving a decent menu. Rooms are OK, clean etc, and fair value for money. Not much else open on our arrival day -- an alternative for eating under normal conditions is the Bar El Portugues, opposite. Hostal Frances owners pleasant enough. I'd like to think that it was just bad luck to arrive on the fiesta eve, and to find the hotel practically closing down
