Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This proved a perfect venue for an extended family holiday of 10 adults and 11 children ranging from 1 -8.
we were made very welcome, and support was there when we needed it.
The bedroom distribution was great for families with lots of bathrooms.
The large dining room allowed us all to eat together.
The kitchen could have had a few more gadgets for self-catering but maybe other people don't cook from scratch as we did.
The hot tub and swimming pool used every day despite it being October!
Great large garden for games and all enclosed.

Thank you for your comment. If you could email me to let me know what gadgets we could include in the Farmhouse, I would be most grateful. It was a pleasure to have your family stay here at Butcombe Farm.

Gorgeous setting in the Mendips. We stayed in one of the cottages - very comfortable. Had some great days out in Bath and Wells and some great walks around Blagdon Lake just down the road. Friendly service. Would recommend it!

Butcombe farm is such a beautiful cottage. This has been the second time ive had the pleasure of dtaying here and i think i was more over whelmed the second time. Gorgeous views and beautiful property. Luxury hot tubs with only the wildlife to disturb. Sent in a great location with fabluous packages that you can choose to make the weekend even more special..

Please be cautious when booking at Butcombe Farm. After receiving confirmation I had booked this property for a special occasion in July I was thoroughly disappointed and upset when I was informed there had been a mix up with our booking and 11 of us would have to find alternative arrangements a week before we were due to arrive.

There was double booking, at the time no deposit was taken, this booking was a one night stay, as means of an apology we did offer the group another stay at a reduced rate. We did provide phone number of alternative accommodation in the area to help. This is something that very rarely happens

I booked this house for 16 ladies for a hen party and what a treat we had, the property is truly brilliant for large parties, its spacious and clean. Dot (owner) meet us there and was so friendly and helpful, we were told to just have fun. Everyone loved the place and would 100%recommend and book again, I just need to organise another party.

Ideal for large groups ie wedding party stays, if wedding party venue is 10min walk down lane at Aldwick Court Farm which is fantastic. The farm has lots of self catering accommodation with family rooms. It also has an outdoor heated swimming pool. Dot and Dave who manage the farm are lovely people and very helpful.

We stayed at butcombe farmhouse for the weekend, pat the owner had said we could arrive anytime on the Friday we got the at 2 she was there to meet us and show us around. Later on in the evening she brought over 2 bottles of champagne & strawberries for us.

We were a group of 14 and there was more than enough room & bathrooms for us all to get ready, the farmhouse was immaculate. The kitchen more than enough equipment.

The pool area was clean and thanks to the beautiful sunshine we had plenty of use in the pool (which was heated)

I would defiantly come back to butcombe just need an excuse :)

We booked The Farmhouse and Granary Cottage for 22 in March 2013. We were very impressed with the size of the houses and standard of accommodation. There was plenty of room for us to sit round the tables in the dining room and play games. We didn't use the swimming pool or snooker table but tinkled the ivories on the piano. There was an amazing array of equipment in the kitchen, almost to Masterchef standard but we only cooked breakfasts. There were some lovely views from the bedrooms.

We stayed here in the Granary Cottage for four nights in April 2012. The cottage was very pretty and well equiped for our family of two adults and two little children (1 and 3). The rooms were comfortable and clean and the cottage was nicely decorated. The staff were really friendly and went out of their way to be helpful to us. I will definitely visit again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet little retreat for a few days. The journey into Bristol is only about 25 mins however you really feel as if you are in the country, as the farm is set in the very pretty Chew Valley.
