I stayed on an I had a week's stay here teaching English to Spanish students, mainly professional business people, recently. The rural location is fantastic and I really enjoyed being close to nature with eagles, kites, ostriches and amazingly tame cows (or were they bulls...). The river was close by and was the perfect distance from the hotel for a... More

I had an extended stay here recently. The venue is literally in the middle of nowhere and ideal for a couples retreat. The room I had in the eaves was lovely, beautifully decorated and styled but the velux window meant I couldnt leave the window open for fear of insects and on one occasion, birds (starlings) flying in. There is... More

A place for one night en passant driving on. Wonderful clean air. A retreat in rural Spain. Comfy rooms. Peaceful. Breakfast good but unless eating perhaps a la carte (never saw the menu), the chef's imagination is dreadful. However the gaspatcho was good. Seafood kebab was good too but the rest!!!! Mon Dieu!

For a hotel in the middle of nowhere, they've done a great job integrating the historical main building with newer additions. The location is stunning, with mountain views providing great sunset and moonrise vistas. A nearby river provides refreshment in the heat and the small town is about a 40 minute walk.

MY second visit on the Vaughantown programme. My room on the second floor was spacious and well furnished, only problem was a leaky roof .Food is fine considering that they are catering to a group .Public rooms pleasant and comfortable. The bar is not always staffed so a bit of a wait sometimes. The setting in the Gredos mountains very pretty and the... Comfortable place nestled in a quiet spot in the countryside . A bit dated in parts, knocked about at the edges . The rooms are not the biggest and if like me you get the top floor you have to watch your head on the eaves ( sloping roof ) .there is a pool , however beware that it is... More

I've stayed there four times. The rooms are spacious and the food consistently good. The staff have always been helpful and now address me by my first name. This hotel is in open countryside bordering the Sierra de Gredos. It's about 2km form the nearest village, El Barco de Ávila.

We spent the first two nights, post our Spanish wedding, at this quaint hotel in the Spanish mountains. Food was great, service very good and location peaceful and relaxing. There is also a plaza close by in Barco de Avila which was very authentic and we enjoyed some delicious tapas and vino here. Highly recommended to get away from it... More

The hotel is spacious and well kept. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. My stay was with a VaughanTown program and so having space is important. It is the second time I have visited the hotel and would certainly recommend it to others.
