We enjoyed ourselves a lot! The inn was a large mansion converted and has wonderful character throughout. The back garden is very private and shady with a tiny little pool to cool off in. No A/C but the higher elevation of Viladrau and nice breezes compensated. Dinner was FANTASTIC! Breakfast was interesting...unlike the continental breakfast buffets at our other eight...

The town is really beautiful. The best: the chef's delicious dishes. The staff is really kind. The house, a typical Catalan upper-class "xalet" (mansion) is deliciously decorated and well-situated. Hiking is a MUST.

I stayed here with my two sisters and mother for 3 nights as we were attending a family wedding. We arrived at midnight and were welcomed and offered food and wine/tea without any hesititation, even though the restaurant had long since closed. I've read someone's comments regarding the breakfast and yes, it is a croissant and toast with homemade jam...

If I get tired and hungry to a hotel after a long journey, I would like to offer me something to eat before bed. That is why we serve dinner no matter what time it was. Regarding a previous review about the breakfast, we improved our level of English so that does not happen again. In that case lacked communication...

With more attention to detail, this hotel could be delightful. More drawer-space in the bedrooms, a plentiful supply of HOT (rather than just-warm) water, repairs to the pool (empty all season because of leaks) and more generous portions for meals would remove the impression that the owner is penny-pinching. Their set dinner at 29.50 Euros was the most expensive we...

The hotel is rather basic, with not much storage space if staying for more than a few days. TV had no English speaking channels, and the pool was empty, though it was still August/September. We thought the food was good, but portions were very small and overpriced. Meals in the village were cheaper and better.Breakfast was included, but again was...

We didn't stay at the hotel, but were fortunate to eat dinner there, having discovered it by asking people in town to recommend a restaurant. What an amazing discovery. Salvador takes such pride in his establishment AND his cooking. We started with a glass of cava in the garden, then moved on to the six course 'surprise' tasting menu in...

We stayed at the Xalet la Coromina for one night in Sep 2010 and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a charming little room looking onto the hotel's garden and were treated to what must be one of the best meals we ever had by chef Salvador. I can highly recommend this place and hope to be able to return one...

We live near the Montseny region and travel all over looking for the best restaurants. Together with Torre Simon in Tona this has to be our favourite. Salvador is a very talented chef and a warm and generous host. Despite the modest price of 25 euro, his tasting menu reminds me of what flavoursome food tastes like - try the...

“"La terrasseta" has a nice balcony, though the room is not very big.”

“I can only comment on the two rooms we had: one at the back and one on the side - both were quiet but as it's in a very quiet location anyway, I don't think there could be a bad room. As Viladrau is quite high up a mountain, the air is clean and fresh so the nights weren't hot, even though it was 30 degree in the day and about 18 at night.”
