We were looking for a place to have dinner and found oursrlves in Thannenkirch. We entered a timbered hall all decorated with toys and fury animals which created the relevant ambiance for chrismas. The hospitality was warm, friendly and attentive. The entire team was minded to make the evening a pleasure for all guests. We haven't booked the place and...

After a visit to Chateau du Haut Koenigsbourg, we remembered seeing several places to eat on our way to the Chateau in Thannenkirch. One of the places was closed (it was Monday) but fortunately the Auberge la Meuniere was open for business. We all picked different menu's of the day including great pate, choucroute, paired with nice cheeses and desserts....

Thannenkirch is a pretty and quiet village a short winding drive from the E25 north of Colmar on the edge of the Vosges. This was our second overnight stay and a late booking got us a "suite" which consisted of two double bedrooms, bathroom (with hand-held shower over the bath) and a sitting area overlooking the terrace and hills beyond....

We have been visiting the Alsace for 11 years now, for our regular week of R&D at this wonderful Auberge. We simply don't have any need to look for anywhere to base ourselves. The owners have even improved the hotel over the years, from very, very good to 'we absolutely MUST come back here yet again'. The owners and staff...

We had a fairly large room on the upper floor. A lift went up one floor, but the last climb was up stairs, so be prepared. There were two bedrooms each with a double bed and two twin beds in a loft above. A small seating area with a couch and TV was in front of the doors that opened...

It was superb,2bedrooms breakfast room, a huge bathroom, sitting room with...

Due to rain, we called in advance to the hotel that we would like to arrive earlier than expected. That was no problem. As our walking trip for the day was 'ruined' they gave us a free upgrade to a big suite, which was empty for the day anyway. "It's available and you might need to stay indoors all day,...

This hotel was convenient for us. It is close to the Chateau du Haut-Koenigsburg and medieval towns of Ribeauville & Riquewihr. We had a room that looked out on the road, but were very happy with it. Rest of our family got a room with a loft. The kids slept up there. Also, they had a balcony with a beautiful...

We've been staying here for a number of years now and, quite frankly, wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting Alsace. Francesca and Jean-Luc are excellent hosts who run a very professional operation in this lovely Auberge high up in the mountains. Francesca in particular always has her beady eye open to ensure that everything is running smoothly!! Thannenkirch is a...

We needed to wait for a couple of hours for the host to our apt to arrive so we drove through Thannenkirch and saw this adorable place and went in. It was 11AM and the restaurant wasn't open yet, but we were invited into the waiting area to have coffee. We asked for the wi-fi password and that was no...
